I recently received this game as a gift. It is awesome. Throwback graphics, great classic shoot-em-up games. Cool special unlock features. My favorites on here are Ghosts and Goblins, Legendary Wings, and Commando. I know they are simple games. I know they are old school. But that's the beauty of them. Anybody here have it. If so, what are your high scores you'd like to compare.

Re: Capcom Classics Collection (PS2)
Yeah it's the arcade version, at least according to the history entry for it on the collection.
The collection also has Street Fighter 2 (Original, Champion Edition, and Hyper Fighting [aka turbo]), Final Fight, Mercs, 1943 KAI, Ghouls and Ghosts, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Forgotton Worlds and some lesser known games like Son Son, Pirate Ship Higemeru (only came out in japan I believe), Exed Exes, and Vulgus. Definitly worth $20, it's as good as the Midway Arcade treasures 1 and 2, in terms of number of games, and number of good arcade games. It does have most of Capcoms great old games not containing the words Mega Man. Haven't played it enough to get any high scores though, and probably won't play it a whole lot as I have many other games I have yet to finish. Nice to have a lot of these games though, even better since I never got a chance to buy any of them.Last edited by thetruecoolness; 01-02-2006, 07:22 AM.

Re: Capcom Classics Collection (PS2)
I have it. It's allright. It's worth it just for the arcade version of Final Fight. There are much better Street Fighter collections out there though. I'd like to see a Capcom collection with some of their console only games like Final Fight 2 and 3 on it.

Re: Capcom Classics Collection (PS2)
Yeah, that was a bit of a let down. I had a great time playing the Nintendo one. The graphics were much better there too, but it's still playable in this collection.Originally posted by Jeroak NelaveIts not the same as the NES version.
The Legendary Wings game isn't quite the same as I remember it. I guess I remember the Nintendo version for that one too.
The space shoot-em-up called Vulgus is a lot of fun. I'd never heard of it before. Graphics aren't much, but it's great for eye-hand coordination. Try not to throw your controller against the wall, though, when some shot comes out of nowhere and blows you up . My high score in Vulgus is 68,550. (I know, I know, amazingly HIGH score!
) Oh well, it's fun anyway.

Re: Capcom Classics Collection (PS2)
When I got it I was really let down that it was the arcade version of Bionic Commando. The game would be alright if they had controls as good as the console version (You can't shoot your arm while falling, which is a major turn-off. Plus you have to press the directional buttons to make your arm shoot up at an angle, while the NES version the angle was the default).
So I beat up some Mad Gear gangstas, got my ass handed to me in Ghosts and Goblins, and played some Commando, and felt vindicated. I also thought the NES version of Section Z was better.

Re: Capcom Classics Collection (PS2)
If it had Strider 2, I would by this collection SOOO FAST. I probably will still buy it.
Gosh if only I had Strider 2.
Edit: Or Street Fighter 2010. I absolutely loved that game. I don't have any clue why.Last edited by JLaCroix; 01-02-2006, 04:45 PM.AIM: JeremyLaCroix
