    Poke'Mon Green Version

I went to a resale shop in my town with a friend of mine and we were looking at the old games they had in there. We were surprised to find poke'mon green version. We stopped playing poke'mon about 2-3 years ago, but I still remember when poke'mon first came into my life with blue version and red version. Everyone at school said there was a rumored green version that is a rare game to find. This game is poke'mon green version, not to be confused with the new game, leaf green or whatever.

We took it home and put it in my SP. The game is unbelievably messed up. Everything is so much different from the original version. The graphics and sprites are the same, and the maps and layouts are all the same, but the dialogue is completely horrible and hillarous, sort of like some people on the Pavilion Boards. The name of the poke'mon are changed. For instance, Ivysaur is changed to Fushi. The whole game is in english, with japanese themes in them. For instance, I went into a house and read a book that said, "the alliance (elite four) is consists of 4 of buddha's warriors assistants".

Instead of Poke'mon, they are called pets. People call you a PET TRAINER.

In the american version there was a poke'mon named Rattata. In this version, it's name is Kelar, and listen to it's definition in the Illustrated Handbook of PET (poke'dex)

"has long sharp tooth which always grow up by biting off or shaving off the hard objects swims with 3-toewebs in the lake."

This game is filled with f***ed up grammar and the worst translations ever. I find it really amusing.

    Pikachu's name is Bicac.

Anyone see or hear about this game?

    Re: Poke'Mon Green Version

    All hail Wikipedia!

The games are known in North America and Europe as Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, and in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red and Pocket Monsters: Green. A separate game, Pocket Monsters: Blue, was only available by ordering the game through childrens' magazines, CoroCoro Comic. But in October 10th of 1999, Pocket Monsters: Blue started selling it in general retail stores. This "Japanese Blue" version is different from the Blue game released outside of Japan, but its sprites were later used in the English ports of Red and Green. The main difference in "Japanese Blue" is the ability to catch Pokémon in places that aren't available in the other versions.
Looks like you got a fan translated copy.

Most likely to have people buy they think is the latest version.

The whole concept of catching wild (if not geneticly impossible) creatures, sticking them in something the size of a baseball and forcing them to fight really bothers me on some level.

The color blue is actually the color green in Japan.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with anime or schoolgirls or something.

Actually, it may have something to do with the later-released Pokemon Blue in Japan, which had updated sprites, Pokedex entries, dialogue and Pokemon locations. The Pokemon sprites in the original two GB JP games were less than stellar.

If I recall correctly, the Blue we got was the same blue version the Japanese got, and the Red being the same, but with Blue's updates.

In any case, that's currently a moot point, what with the GBA remakes, Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, remaining unchanged compared to their Japanese counterparts. Though, Fire Red has the Pokedex entries from the original two JP games that we never got.

Nintendo's official reason was that blue was a more popular color than green outside of Japan. Or something along those lines. At least, that's what it said in a copy of Nintendo Power, among a few other places.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

                    Re: Poke'Mon Green Version

In a January issue of the science journal Nature, Pier Paolo Pandolfi of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York described the cancer-causing POK erythroid myeloid ontogenic gene, calling it Pokemon in the process.

Not pleased by the rush of headlines proclaiming "Pokemon causes cancer," Pokemon USA threatened legal action against the center to have the name of its popular game and trading card series disassociated from the gene, reports the latest issue of Nature. The center has complied with Pokemon USA's demands, and now refers to the gene by the much less-catchy name Zbtb7, Nature reports.

How do you pronounce that? *tries pronouncing that* Kinda sounds like "the raspberry". Or maybe "ptooie". And they changed it because of Nintendo. Hmm...
