    Internet Addiction

Are you pavilionites addicted to the internet?

I've come to find that I am an addict. It's probably okay, since the internet should be around for quite awhile.

However, if I am at my parents house, like I was for the holidays, I start to get very anxious if I can't login to the internet after awhile (darn that dialup). When I was living there, even though I saved a bunch of money, I basically changed my sleep schedule as nighttime was the only time I was "allowed" to get on dialup, and there was a refusal to accept high speed internet even when I offered to pay. I couldn't handle it and had to get my own place with high speed internet.

If I can't get my daily dose of fark, pavilion, espn, gmail... I start to feel pretty weird and disconnected and anxious.

Anyone else? OR AM I LIKE TOTALLY LOSER

I am totally addicted to the internet.

As a matter of fact, I'm supposed to be working on a project right now.

      Yeah, I kinda am.

I've been more addicted since I talk to my girlfriend on messenger.

      That and research on stuff.

Luckily, I am not addicted to the internet. I just have a healthy addiction to my PS2.
Hey you! Get away from my controller! Whew... thats better. As I was saying I have a healthy addiction.
I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

            Re: Internet Addiction

There's only a few things I really do on a regular basis, Pavilion, messenger, GameSpot, and a couple porn sites, other than that I just surf for info on whatever random junk pops into my brain. If I had my way I'd be online 24/7. So you're not the only net addict but that doesn't necessarily mean you're not a totally loser. LOL

              Re: Internet Addiction

Most of my friends are online, so I'd feel pretty sad if I couldn't talk to them. Other than that, it's fun but not the only thing in life.

                Re: Internet Addiction

I have a habit of constantly doing lengthly research regarding miscellaneous topics influenced by certain things I do. For example, after watching the Blackadder II series, I did an in-depth study on Queen Elizabeth I. Furthermore, I follow this community very strictly. Not to mention the game research in-between.

So, as a scholar type, I'd be a bit annoyed by lack of Internet access.

That is, unless I have a handheld console handy.

I'm like completely unconnected to my friends and whatnot, without the internet. Unless school is in session. I think I need to start memorizing phone numbers.

                  So, yeah, I'm an addict.

                    Re: Internet Addiction

I enjoy days that I spend entirely away from the internet.
I mean, at times when I've been without it, it's been annoying
when I want to look up some information or whatever.
But I prefer communication through other means.
I only use AIM or e-mail to keep in touch with a few people.

                        Re: Internet Addiction

I guess someone could be addicted to worse things.

I might have been at one time; I don't know. I was just here and there all the time on the internet and I realized that being on the internet all the time was getting kind of tacky, I wouldn't see people I knew for days, people that live houses away from me, I wasn't going out much and therefore barely getting any, Which sucked, mostly for my ego I suppose.

I guess if you're addicted to something you got to have self-respect and just let it go. I'm not saying people that think they're addicted to the internet have no self-respect cause I don't know everyone's situation obviously.

                          Re: Internet Addiction

Sort of. I pretty much just check in, look at a board I frequent, decide I don't want to read any of those topics, go to a different board and decide I don't want to read any of those topics, etc., repeat about 3 or 4 times and go find something else to do.

But if I couldn't do that at least every other day I would damn well go crazy.
