actually, if you want to burn your own home movies and stuff onto a dvd with menus and ****, use "ulead dvd studio", it works nice.

if youre just doing like copies/data dvds use nero express 6 or something

With my new computer, I got a built in dvd burner and my father installed Nero. I would probably go with that.

nero just mainly puts files on the dvd. thats what it DOES.

ulead dvd studio does all the work of turning your computer files into fantastic DVD files for your TV to enjoy.

If you get Nero get version 6. Some odd legal issue caused them to make changes to version 7 so that you either have to get the premium one or pay for a plugin to burn dvds but it's included in the regular version 6.

Usually, newer DVD writers/re-writers (as they're normally called now) come with recording software like Nero, and sometimes even video editing software.

Anyway, yeah, the latest Nero's right on the money. However, you can use WinXP's proprietary DVD data recording system in the meantime.
