    Another Civ4 thread

I just got done playing this.
I have to admit 2K and Firaxis did a good job.
The soundtrack and graphics blew me away.
But I have just one caveat; [loud]DOWNLOAD THE PATCH BEFORE YOU PLAY![/loud]
Otherwise you will have to contend with some bugs in the game.

Granted I'm most likely the only one here that plays Civ. But I figured, I
    give it it's due.

The civilization series is my favorite game series, ever.

Sid Meier can have my kids, and stuff.

I sorta slightly preferred Alpha Centauri. Because I'm a geek.

And... it suffers from something called a "memory leak". Supposedly the game just won't work on some newer PCs but will work just as fine on older Pcs with less memory. Last I heard, they really coudn't figure out why it is happening. Oh, plus I played it and it's kinda buggy.

I've never got to play Civ, although I have enjoyed the presumably similar Zeus.

I got Civilization 3 awhile back and it wouldn't install on my new computer (Haven't tried it on my old one). Maybe it's a problem with the whole series. Or maybe my disk was just f'ed up. The installer kept telling me soething about disk corruption.

I've been considering getting Civilization 4, but maybe I should consider Age of Empires 3 instead... Or maybe I'll get F.E.A.R.!!!!

Sounds like you got a bad game disk or you need a patch. Here's a site where you can get a patch for Civ3.

I definetly recommend get a patch. If that doesn't do the trick. Toss it and go get Civ3 Complete.

Which one are you refering to? Are talking about Civ1 or 2. I don't think they
sell either of those in stores nowdays. Ya sure, you can find a copy in a discount/discontinued bin.

                    Re: Another Civ4 thread

I've only played Civ II on the Playstation and the one on the PC. On the Playstation version, I loved having automobiles by 800 B.C. and stealth fighters by 200 B.C. Just the thought of having a society that advanced in that time period is very far out...

The one on the PC was interesting, to say the least. I loved modding it when I got the opportunity to play, and downloaded a post-nuclear war mod to the game. But I unfortunately never owned a copy of the PC version.

Maybe I'll have to give this one a try.
