    psp question

I was playing my psp yesterday, and when I turned it on, it took like 30 seconds for the game to boot up. WHen I turned it on, it went to the home menu, but there was no menus or anything. It was just red (you know, the december psp background color). Like i said, it took 30 seconds for the game to boot up. It was just stuck at an empty red, background screen. I tried to turn the psp off, but it wouldn't turn off. It finally showed the little load icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. It finally booted up.

So what's up here? Is it just taking a little time to read the umd? Could my umd be messed up, or is my psp messed up.

    Thanks in advance!

    Possessed.

EDIT: How is this spam? Don't you believe in possession, random negative rep giver? Didn't Emily Rose convince you? HUH?

      Re: psp question

Well, your first problem is it was made by Sony. J/K I don't have a psp so I don't know what to tell ya. Check with other UMDs to see if the problem is isolated (games and movies if you have any), and check with that game a few more times to see if the problem persists. Sometimes just a dust particle being in a particular spot can screw up the boot process but if it keeps happening it's more than that.

You should post on a sony message board. I have a PSP but haven't encountered this problem and not many members of this board have a PSP or use it frequently.

stuff like that has happened to me too. just pull the battery out and pop it back in like glueme said. Mine also liked to randomly turn off whenever (only) metal gear acid was in there.

I havent had any of those problems since I upgraded to firmware 2.5 though.

I had this problem once, I shut it down and turned it back on and everything was cool.

I got my PSP at launch and that was the only thing that went wrong with it.

Never had that problem, just a random hiccup. Or maybe you have got some...uh...inappropriate stuff that caused it to freeze.
