I personally loved the book, and I'm extremely excited about the movie (watch E.T. tonight, they're showing a clip!). Director Ron Howard admit's that the movie will spark just as much controversy as the book. And I think it will create a whole new wave of fans.

Re: The Da-Vinci Code
I'm not much of a reader though I'm really trying to change that (Haruki Murakami, BEEYOTCH) but everyone I know detests Da Vinci Code. I won't know for sure until I read myself (doubt i will) but they lambast it for its poor... something or other. Writing... style?
I dunno, they see Dan Brown as a big fat hack. And all that hype IS an annoyance. THE 700TH HISTORY CHANNEL SPECIAL DECODING DAVINCI'S BALLS OMFG.

I admit, that if you are deeply religous in any way, this book might not be for you. Or if you are not religous at all, you may not realize how important some of these things are to some people. And about Dan Brown, he has written some amazing stuff. Even if you didn't like The Da-Vinci Code.''No one has bad taste, or bad opinions. Re: The Da-Vinci Code
I read the book and was entertained. It don't see what all the hype is about but then people are stupid and they do stupid things. Like get angry because a piece of fiction says things contradictary to the bible. Did you know that apparently there's a boycott of a bunch of companies because they say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Did I mention people are stupid. The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.
