    DS Screen Protector

I'm planning on selling my books after finals, and ordering a USB dongle, DS screen protectors, and a stylus.

I need no recommendation on the USB dongle(there's only one), and I think I have a high techish stylus picked out.(http://www.pdapanache.com/products.asp?PID=NINDS)

Now, I'm looking for a good brand of DS screen protectors, preferably one that's most likely available from an actual Gamestop or EBgames store, but it could also be from the net. I never found the protectors to be anywhere near wanted for me, but then I laid eyes on a DS at Wal*Mart... scratched to hell.

    Thanks for any recommendations.

Isn't the DS... its own... screen protector...?

Well yes, but you can't stop the stylus.

I do not recommend a screen protector for anything. That's the first thing my friend did to his DS and PSP and it looks like ass. Not only does it make games harder to see but, you'll also most likely leave some little air bubbles in it. The bottom screen of the DS comes with a screen protector over it anyway.

Any game site I've seen that recommends a specific brand of screen protector said Hori but it's japanese and I think you can only get it online. Not sure what makes it special. I've only found them in game stores as part of a package. I picked up a Mad Catz DS Crystal Case package for $5 (weird, useless flexible case, 2 pairs of screen protectors, and a lint-free cloth for cleaning). It comes with a little cardboard "squeegee" thing to smooth out the bubbles but I don't know how to get them on without it being streaky or bubbly. I'm not good with screen protectors.

the bottom screen on the DS is very resistant to scratches. you have to actually want to damage it to do anything to it. the DS stylus and thumb-strap are incapable of harming it with normal, non-stabbing use.

That's true, I'm pretty sure the broken DS's in Wal-Marts are the result of little kids and jerks with the minds of little kids that purposely scrape the stylus across the screen like mad just to mess it up. I really use the touch screen at a minimum since it's more comfortable to use the buttons most of the time. I only use it for Nintendogs and writing letters or moving item icons in Animal Crossing.

Thanks for the opinions here, since visibility and air bubbles were the main gripes I would have with the things... I guess I won't get any.

The Wal*Mart thing makes to much sense. It looked like someone grinded the stylus into the screen.>_>

I've seen people use ink pens.

Anybody used the Intec claw-like finger stylus? I just want it cause it looks cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the image they pasted onto the screen on this pic couldn't possibly be from an actual DS game. It looks like a shot from a TV.

The official Nintendo screen protector is for the top screen only. I believe it's just a replacement for the plastic one already on there.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

Just keep your DS away from any kids less than 5 years old. I let my 3-year-old cousin (at the time) get ahold of my DS to draw in Mario 64, and she tapped at the top screen and bottom screen a little harder than I would've liked. Naturally, there's a few permanent dots on both screens now.

Also, keep the screen out of natural light. Too much of the stuff, and you can not only see any scratches that might've been put into the screen, but the very light scratches where you traced across the screen like you should.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

thats actually just residue from the stylus on the protective film. it rubs right off.
