    Snowboarding and Skiing, the Topic.

I really enjoy snowboarding, and I just got an amazing deal on a new snowboard + bindings, I took it out today and it was butt numbingly awesome.

    I got this:

For 100 bucks Canadian. (Not the boots, those are old)

    Yeah, snowboarding/skiing. Discuss.

I have never done it before, but my friends and I are trying to save up for a trip and board to go next year, maybe this year if I have enough. Any recommendations on gear?

It's difficult for me to recommend a brand, because every brand has significant variations in quality based on the board, but Burton is usually a safe bet.

As for gear itself, the board should be about level with your collarbone when standing straight up if you want to do cool terrain park stuff, but up to your chin if you're a speed freak.

      Get a leash.

      Get a lock.

Get boots 1 size too big for you.

      Get a stomp pad.

      Get a helmet. (Seriously)

The rest is up to you, talk to the guy at your local sports store.
