    PSP video

Some guy on the Gamefaqs forum made this video, and everyone there found out that their geocities account couldn't host it, and I was forced to.

It's a good video, though, it's like 90 megabytes in size and 20 minutes of run time. It's pretty good quality and runs through pretty much every menu and option on the thing.

If you're interested in the PSP this is a cool video to watch while waiting for the launch day. But, I know most of you are anti-PSP so this is just here for the few people who might like it.

    GET IT HERE!

    Enjoy!

I dont think anyone is anti-psp, I think people are just anti-sony's constant manufacturing screw-ups, which the PSP is full of.

I guess. They fixed the square button thing though. Dead pixels happen on every LCD device. In fact, I'm looking at one right now on my monitor, it's not that bothersome. That UMD disc popping out is retarded. In that movie, the guy is holding it upside down and putting as much pressure as he can to twist it. I dunno about you but I don't play games upside down while twisting the **** out of the controller/handheld.

Also, before anyone makes the generic "OMG BATTERY LIFE" argument, I'm just gonna say this:

There's 24 hours in a day. I spend 7 at school, 9 sleeping, 2 doing homework/eating and 1 doing random chores and stuff.

      24
      - 7
      - 9
      - 2
      - 1
      -------
      5

So in my case I have about 5 hours of free time every day. Ridge Racers, the most graphics intensive game on the PSP (so far) can run for 5 hours on medium brightness and medium volume. So even if I spend ALL my free time playing PSP the battery will be fine. I can charge it overnight.

In my case, the battery is fine. The other "problems" seem to be alright as well, but I guess I'll see when it comes out.

well sir, I've played a PSP. Mikochan had one. in the video that everyone on the net has seen, he held it downward so that he could make sure the UMD hit something soft.

in my experience with a launch unit, if you twist it just a tiny bit, like adjusting your hands, that door would pop open and the disc would fly up about 2-3 inches, and then of course, fall. I sure as hell wasnt trying to eject it, I wanted to play armored core: formula front, dammit! that thing ejected at least 8 times. maybe my hands are just too big? regardless, sony DID finally fix this, although they refuse to replace any launch units with the problem.

as for the dead pixels thing. yeah, almost every LCD device has them. lets look at sony's dead pixel policy vs. nintendo's.

sony: there must be 7 dead pixels in a 1cm area to qualify for a replacement.
nintendo: just one dead pixel qualifies you for a replacement.

as for the battery life, 5 hours, with everything on medium? I'm sorry, but that DOES suck.

Eh, the battery life isn't too big an issue for me. I almost always play my handhelds at home, anyway. Couldn't play on the road if I'm driving. (And if I'm not driving, still can't do it because I get motion sickness.) As long as I'm able to play with the thing plugged in (and if the power cord is long enough), then I'm okay.

But I can see it being a problem for others.

I was watching it without sound, and the way he was taking so long to get it out of its case, I almost thought the show was going to end up with it being a sex toy in some prolonged amateur exposition.
              ...and that's why.

As far as battery life goes... if you are unable to find any source of power for long enough for the battery to run out... Well lets just say short battery life is the least of your worries.
