    Remembering John Lennon

Around this time 25 years ago, John Lennon was senselessly murdered in NYC. All day long, they have been playing his music (solo and with the Beatles) and sound clips on the radio. Man, what a great musician and person. Usually I don't like people that have "hippy agendas", but I honestly think that John Lennon really wanted the whole world to just chill for a minute and look at what we're doing to each other instead of just enjoying the drugs. He also had a quirky sense of humor. It sucks that he didn't live a long and full life.

      Like Michael Moore.

But yeah, if there is one thing I could have it'd be the opportunity to see him perform, after reading a lot of the stuff he said in The Beatles Anthology he's definatly a great person. George, too.

He was tight with Forrest Gump.

He was an absolutely inspirational musician.

I've loved the Beatles since I was about five years old, and yesterday while they were playing his songs on TV I realized how awesome it was that a man who died before I was born has had such an impact on my life.

It really is too bad that he had to go so soon.

My favorite morning show radio DJs were trying to have a serious moment for Lennon, when one of them said, "Too bad he didn't shoot Ringo instead," and the guy who was trying to have his serious moment lost it and they both laughed. Then they played Christmas Lennon in tribute. It was kind of sad and touching, but lighthearted with the Ringo comment at the same time. It was ill-prepared, because it was not meant to be a joke, but it turned into one.
