Whats your favorite Monster Rancher?

After all the fuss due to RPGD importing MR5, I was just wondering what everyones favorite Monster Rancher game is. I like 4, personally.
By the way, it is public. Can't think of any reason why anyone would care.

There was fuss? I did not notice any.

My favorite is without a shadow of a doubt Monster Rancher 2. Many unlockable breeds unlocked in many different ways, great flow, challenging, exciting battle themes, hell, I could go on. It's the quintessential Monster Rancher game.

I especially cherish it since it's unlikely Tecmo will ever go the old route with the console series ever again. Not that it's a bad thing, mind you.

I've only played 3 and 4 but I like 4 a lot more. 3 is great too but I like several things they added to 4: venturing, raising multiple monsters, customizing your ranch, being able to train/rest and battle in the same week, etc. And I like the characters and storyline in 4.

Four, without a doubt, though I definately invested more time into one and two than any of the other games.

To be honest, I didn't like two that much. I really don't know why. It just didn't...click with me, despite being so immense and awesome. One is still my second favorite. I have so many good memories linked to it. Three, three was all right. I think the removal of monster combining was a huge mistake though.

Four, four though...four has a lot of things going for it. Multiple monsters at a time, and the most perfect adventure/monster skill system out of the series, in my opinion. I do, however, miss Galis. How many games has it been since we've seen them? :<

I also heavly enjoy the MR Advance games, and am highly looking forward to Monster Rancher DS, whenever it's coming out.

I know how you feel. I can't seem to delve deep into MR1, even after a few attempts. MR2 spoiled me with it's awesomeness and variety.

I guess peoples' MR preferences tend to be heavily dependant on which game they start with.

I miss Gali's too. One of my favorites.
At the risk of hijacking my own topic, what are your favorite breeds of monster? You can name more then one. I, in fact, have to do four:
Zuums: I got MR1 when it was new, and dino was my breed of choice. After playing MR2, I found Zuum to be better over that bald dino.
Arrowheads: I think I can just leave it at that.
Antlans: Fell in love with them during MRA and kept them in MR4. In fact, my Antlan Tide was my first B class monster in MR4, and helped me get all those great gadgets and such to raise my S Class...
Durahans: Actually, I only raised one Durahan, Darkness. (Main Durahan/Sub Joker). He never went beyond S class because it was too much of a pain. But Durahans remain close to my heart. Not too close, though: Their blades are pointy.

They were last seen in MRA2. But who knows? Perhaps they'll be in MR5 or 6?

Incidentally, in MR4, absolutely any XBox game will yeild a Dino, classified as a Zuum/? breed.
