lets hear them. I need to know what you think are the absolute best games made with the RPG Maker series, and I need to know by thursday. state your reasons for listing the games as well. The only criteria is that the game must be available here at the pavilion.

this is VERY serious, and the games I pick from your lists will be named in a major video game magazine.

From what I've played, Jester's Hunt.

Remote Control: Wacky, fresh and funny. Minigames are dandys.

Crazy Skating: A great example of the level of customization in RPG Maker.

I haven't played many RPGM2 games long enough to make proper judgement.

Damn.... Hippy Hunt 2 is availible at the Mag and the Domain, but I never got around to submitting it :(.

Anyways I have a ton of favorite demos, but I will pick a full game.

Doylemans The Farm Life, he really went out with this thing, it really is a full iteration of the HM series, but on RPGM2. He deserves an award for this completion.

Then Tetris, Videogamedrome (I know it aint finished, but I played an almost finished demo.), and Vanished Nights, even though it will never be finished.

Dammit, I cannot edit here, but how in the hell could I forget Paladin and Zelda: Links Adventure. Paladin was a great, I say was because it too will never get finished, it had a great story, and everything was placed just perfectly, he even went through the trouble of making literally dozens of poeple to talk to.

And Zelda Links Adventure is great for having excellent puzzles and being the first out with an ACBS.

I only know RPGM games REALLY well. I've played a crapton of them.

These 4 stood out the most in all my playtime.

Remote Control- Duh, it's freaking remote control. It was the first time I observed precision minigames in an RPGM game. It was pretty amazing when I first played, and it still holds comedic value- I recently played through to show my partner the fun, nontraditional side of making an RPG Maker game.

Dark Illusions. I loved this game. You can actually sense the mood with RPGMs limited devices. Very awesome, and should most definately be recognized as it's mainly underrated.

Fufu the Acid Trip Bunny- A crazy RPGM sidescroller. Innovation and custom graphics at its best.

Crazy Skating- A skating RPGM game? Yeah, don't see many of those.

Ack, sorry.

Remote Control - really showed what RPGMaker could do outside of the traditional fantasy setting.

Fu-Fu-Acid Trip Bunny - The real first side-scroller game that show's off Dave Carter's funny art.

Nanobot - Taking the feel of a SNES sidescroller game, you get an enjoyable Dave Carter game.

Joke Own Game option:
Michael's Homosexual Adventure Series - omg lolergasm funnay :p

Tseboath: The Warlike Nature of Him - the only serious game that I played to completion and I enjoyed every second of it.

Jester's Hunt- It had a custom-made battle system, some mini games, nice level design, and was the best fetchquest based game I've ever played for RPG Maker.

Nissi: Return of the Noths- Proved that a Final Fantasy esque game could be made with RPG Maker despite a major flaw which stopped me from progressing through the game.

Presto's Broken Dream- A nice puzzle game with puzzles that were actually pretty difficult and were original as well.

All the ones I wanted to say have already been said. :(

Checkers Plus- Impressive, a 2-player checkers game, but more!

Games I've gone all the way through:

Remote Control - The main quest was okay, but the star seemed to be the arcade. The Dating Sim ruled all.

Fu-Fu the Acid Trip Bunny - Sidescroller with custom art. And pretty good custom art, I'd say.

Games I've never finished but liked what I saw so far:

The Spiteful Dead - The story seemed to be deep, and I liked some of the level designs.

Black Ribbon - Deep story, and plenty of characters.

Though I never really finished it I thought Robot Go Home was a pretty good game, mostly because it had no random battles and the graphics were done exceptionally well, like being able to see the outdoors while within buildings.

Forever's End would have to be my alltime favorite RPGM1 game (that hasn't already been named in every single post so far). It simply had the best story I saw of the few games I've played.

Bingos Fd up Quest.

No holds barred comedy. Cutter wasn't afraid to offend and did not hold back. truly funny.

I think for this the entertainment side should be played down, it shouldn't be games that are funny or w-e. They should have distinct functions that show of what you can do with RPGM. Thus games like tetris, doyleman's sim game, and my zelda game, etc.. branch out and show different genre's and things you can do with the game. Shawnopoly isn't finished but its clearly worth a mention, i mean just look at the game board. These games show dedication and unlimitness to the series.

Isle of Lost Souls (RM1)

Easily my favorite RPGM game because it told not only a captivating storyline but had a non-linear and completly awesome way of doing it. You play as Avery, a man who wakes up trapped on an island and gradually meets a group of compainions, some are nice, some are bad, and some are just in between. Things start off easily enough, you choose a party from this ragtag group and you're on your merry way. That is, until a startling discovery is made, the island is flooding; everyday more and more of it is engulfed underwater. This stressful setup leads the player to make a lot of choices that, when made, cause people to die. Avery's goal becomes simple, after that, "escape the island of lost souls". Not only that, but the plot holds a lot of excellent twists and turns and for an RPGM game holds a vast degree of complexity to it.

Oh, and the best part, once you complete the game you can go back, and either save the people that you let die the first time, or get off the island much sooner than before it floods. The only flaw the game has is that it uses the default battle system, which I was ok with, anyway, since it had non-random encounters. I highly encourage anyone to give the game a go if you can.

Though really neat custom features and such are nice, it really aint much without a good presentation, so yeah, we should list titles that show off custom features, but not exclude other titles that excell in presentation.

For example, I have alot of experience complex cinematics that is just more than characters having just plain text conversation. So I can understand how much trouble goes into making complex cinematics, they take forever actually. So I can imagine that Shawn Forbes had a hell of a time making Tabloid, it has no gameplay what so ever, but it shouldn't be excluded because of that, because the strengths were definitly in cinematic scripting. Most games with custom features don't excell in that department, which is okay, because of the great gameplay features. So I don't think that entertainment should be downplayed anymore than custom features. :P

If the game you want to pick is on the Mag, then don't worry. ;)

We need to get some RPG Maker 3 games in here. Definately Second to Last Fantasy since it was the first full RPGM3 game.

I'm also going to take the patheic route and promote my own RPGM3 game, Centurion, which is up on both the pavilion and the mag. I think it does a good job of showing off a wide variety of the features of RPGM3.

(I see it was just submitted) I nominate Hippy Hunt 2, because it's super-funny and VERY entertaining. Visually, it's stunning too.
I also nominate The Farm Life, because it really pushes RPGM2's capabilities and has tons of cool minigame-esque things that took a lot of work to make from scratch.
**** man, most of what I've played were demos. Oh well, I contributed something. Oh, if you need me to post more for my nominations please let me know, and I will.

I've have to say The Faith of One cause it had a lot of features and it was the first story to take religion seriously.

Plus there Yugi the light Warrior Game 1.
