    FAFSA

Does anyone have any experience filling the FAFSA?

I want to do it, but I'm lazy and a big underachiever. That and I'm attending a community college at first. That and my parents don't think we'll qualify for anything since it specifically asks for your tax returns. That and my dad has been saving up money for my college education for the past 20 years. That and I'll be entering college with credits in English 1301, 1302, 2322, 2422, and US History 1301, 1302, Macroeconomics 2322 (eww), and it's related Government course.

I'm slugging through the FAFSA online, but eh.

    Just gimme $$$, damnit

My Expected Family Contibution(EFC) was $0, because, well... My family made $0 in the past year.

Needless to say, I got a "free ride" through college with like $600+ back per term from the refund check, to use on iPods and cameras. It was all grants too, and no loans.

    And then I dropped out.

FAFSA is cool, and it won't hurt at all to go through.

The only thing you need to fill out the FAFSA is the 1040 of yourself and your parent(s) or whoever takes care of you. I've always gotten $0 family contribution too cause on the rare occasions when my mom has worked she's made far less than minimum wage over the year (from quitting the job over and over again every couple months).

This is kind off topic but I'm always thinking that I should go to collage at around twenty five, but when I'm at work sometimes I'm thinking "Man, I otta be in collage or something NOW" cause at this point I work at a factory where ex-cons, immigrants, drops outs, and a few single mothers work.

It's hard to know when you're ready for college and when's the right time to go. I went right after high school and was just not ready. I ended up dropping out early in my third semester. I recently started back and I'm doing really well now. But by the same token I feel bad that I started at this school the fall after I would've graduated from the first one had I stuck it out.
