I'm not a big fan of 1up but this was a well done review: here (http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3146050&did=1)
I'm thinking of getting this game for my sister for christmas so we can visit each other's towns while I'm overseas on active duty. I think it comes out tomorrow and it incorperates online wi-fi play so you can visit your friends towns. Other than that... it's Animal Crossing but it can be played with the Stylus which should make t-shirt creation and letter writing a whole lot easier. I believe movement can optionally be controlled by the stylus so you can play the game completely with your right hand while you're left plays with your remote [control].
Oh yea, there are no NES games (an image in the review explains why, hehe). Also, I HOPE TO GOD THAT ANNOYING PANDA ISN"T IN HERE. No matter how many pitfalls I put in front of his house, angry letters I sent him, or even 10 year time warps, nothing made that guy leave... nothing. I also remember a sheep (baa-bara?) that was annoying as well. I had all the lame people in my village.

I'm thinking about getting this too. I never played Animal Crossing on GC but I've heard a lot of good things about it and I'd love an online game for my DS. I'm considering Mario Kart too.
It's been a long while since I played AC. I'll gladly pick this one up.
So, w/ online, can you visit your friends villages 'n stuff er something?

I'm avoiding this like the plague. I wasted 3 months of my life in the GameCube version. By the time I realized I was spending 3 or 4 hours of each day doing the exact same routine (look for new bugs and fish, chatting with everyone in town to get their random quests, digging around all over the place, and checking the store for items I may not have bought yet), I was flat-out tired of it and got rid of it. Simply put, getting this one will take up way too much of my free time.
Besides, no real holidays or NES games?
Hey, at least you can afford it.

If I get a DS for Christmas, I'm getting this too. Being able to mess around with your towns is too tempting to pass up.
When I used to play the game, I'd borrow my sisters memory card when she was gone, visit her town and bury t-shirts and other random things all over her town. Drove her nuts...:)
Well hell. I was going to put my freind code up so we can start visting each other's towns and creating a comunity, but Copper won't give you a friend code until you pay back Tom Nook! LAME. Oh well. See you in a few... THOUSAND BELLS THAT IS!!!
Nevermind, you just have to finish his stupid chores. My code is 2062-1909-8624

Better keep your Friend Codes handy. You can add, remove and switch them around whenever you'd like, but you can only have up to 37 on your list at a time.

I just got AC! I messed around for a few minutes but I don't know what I'm doing yet. My name's PandaMoe and I live in Sunydale. I wish the names could be a little longer. :( But other than that it's fun so far.

I'm pretty angry over some of the things they took out but it's a satisfying game and drawing rude constellations is fun. I hate the censor... not because it blocks my rude words but because it's so stupid. Simple mispellings trick it easily and it's almost 100% worthless because it only censors all of 3 words.

What else did they take out besides the NES games?

TILL CHRISTMAS. >:
Yar, me too.:(
No DS until Christmas, and then I shall possess ACWW and a USB dongle. I expect the people that have the game to post of their adventures here like when the GC one came out.:p
marcus
12-08-2005, 09:06 PM
What else did they take out besides the NES games?
Well...
-You can't get a friend code until you complete Tom Nook's oddjobs
-You can no longer ask for jobs from animals; they have to assign them to you
-There are no more real holidays
-The post office is gone and has been replaced by town hall
-There's no more police station; lost and found is basically "do you want all of these crap items YES NO?"
-Tag mode is pretty much POINTLESS (basically, you send a message in a bottle and wait in tag mode until you bump into someone else who's in tag mode... outside of McGreasepits, the chances of this happening with a random stranger are 1 in a 1,000,000,000 and it's useless doing it with your friends)
Regardless, the game world is more steamlined (no more stupid acre system) and the way it scrolls makes it look like you're walking on a miniature globe. The good outweighs the bad but it feels like Nintendo could have at least ADDED something except online play and the ability to draw your own flag and constellation. It's essentially animal crossing and about 90% of it... but in your pocket with nothing changed or fixed.

I'm kinda glad I never played the GC AC so I have nothing to be disappointed about. It's all brand new to me.

Naruto

Yeah, so they took out the NES games and have made up holidays now. Everything else Marcus listed is an improvement or somethin new. The way you get errands now works better 'cause it's just like something they mention or hint at not something they really ask you for. It's a little more realistic and it's not like you have to get it done or drop it like before.
Vonwert

I am not sure why not having holidays would be so bad. You can just invite your friends and celebrate in your own way.

I think having holydays just slows down the localizations too much.
Draygone
12-09-2005, 12:17 AM
Darn it, I'm interested in this now. But again, I could never get it, as it'd take up way too much of my time.
Besides, the loss of NES games is a major blow to me. The NES games were probably the coolest things you could find in the GameCube game.
Is it paradoxical for someone to play a game just to play a game within a game if the game is about life?
That sounds awkward now that I think about it. I love it.

Love it. Embrace it. Hug it.:D
On another topic, so there ARE made up Holidays? Because if anyone remembers, the holidays in the GC version were made up too. Toy Day, the summer exercise thing, etc, etc.
I'll miss the post office, but I still hope Nintendo does their item giveaways somehow like they used to give out NES item codes.:(
I'm playing most definately no matter what, since I can actually see other's towns on this one, and the stylus seems perfect for AC's tasks.:)

Celebrating New Year's with Animal Crossing was cool as hell.
A semi-recent statement form the company confirmed that Nintendo will be giving people gifts via NWC.
marcus
12-09-2005, 12:58 PM
It would have been cool to have NES games because you could post your scores up on your friend's bulletin board and rub it in his face. Why is it that the one single competitive element of Animal Crossing was decided to be removed?
Also, everytime you log online there's a random chance that faceless cat that bothered you on the train in Animal Crossing GCN (not Rover, the other cat) will appear in your town by the gate or wander around. Her face is actually drawn by another person (whoever it may be) from any random DS. If you talk to her, you can redesign her face and send her back so someone else halfway across the world might get your same cat. It's nothing special, but it's a pretty cool feature... kind of like travelling graphitti.

That's probably why New Year's is the only real world holiday they kept. All the rest are fictional. But that means they can happen several times a year or last for an entire week unlike real holdiays. Like the Fireworks Show every Sunday in August. I can't wait that long for my sparklers and roman candles darn it. How was Christmas celebrated in the first AC? The closest in Wild World seems to be Bright Nights week when everyone decorates their houses with lights and you get to judge the winner for best house in town.
I'm already looking forward to January 14, the next La-Di-Da day!

I'm already looking forward to January 14, the next La-Di-Da day!
Here's the GC Holidays.
"January:
1st -- New Year's Day -- Go to the Well between 6am and 11pm and talk to
Tortimer
February:
2nd -- Groundhog Day -- Be at the Well by 7am and talk to Tortimer after the
event
March:
20th or 21st -- Spring Sports Fair -- Go to the Well to see these events.
April:
1st -- April Fools' Day -- Be sure to talk to all your townsanimals to hear
some funny tails (I mean tales!). And be sure to talk to Tortimer for a big
surprise.
5th-7th -- Cherry Blossom Festival -- Many of the trees in your town will
start to turn pink. Be sure to talk to your townsanimals and they will talk
to you about it. Don't forget to visit Tortimer at the Well.
22nd -- Nature Day -- Animal Crossing is not just about kindness to animals,
getting along with friends, and helping others. It's about getting along with
Mother Nature. Again, be sure to visit Tortimer at the Well.
May:
1st -- Spring Cleaning -- Once again, find Tortimer (I sense a pattern here)
to get your gift. Isn't he generous?
1st-5th -- "Koinobori" (fish-shaped windsocks) will appear in your town. These
windsocks are in reference to a Japanese celebration in which the windsocks are
painted to look like brightly-colored fish to amuse the children.
2nd Sunday -- Mother's Day -- Since your mother in Animal Crossing sends you
letters all the time, you'd better think of her on this day! (Oh, and don't
forget to think of your real mother, too!) Be sure to find Tortimer so he can
offer you a gift.
June:
2nd Friday -- Graduation Day -- Congratulations on making it this far in
Animal Crossing (not that it's hard...)! Visit Tortimer for your gift.
3rd Sunday -- After thinking of your real father, turn on AC and visit your
town's "father" Tortimer.
Every Sunday -- Summer Fishing Tourney -- Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Don't miss
your chance to catch the biggest fish! Oh yeah, and don't forget to find
Tortimer on one of those days.
July:
4th -- Fireworks Show -- Go to the lake from 7pm to 9pm to see the fireworks.
Redd will be there to sell things, too. Be sure to find Tortimer.
July 25th-August 31st -- Exercises w/Copper -- From 6am to 7am, Copper will
lead the villagers in exercises. Be sure to get an event card from the Mayor.
Get the card stamped by Tortimer 14 times during the event and you'll earn a
special prize. When at aerobics, use the C stick on the controller to do the
moves. It takes a little practice, but you can pretty easily figure out how
to move the stick for each exercise.
Random -- "Your Hometown" Day -- To celebrate your unique town in the AC
world, on a random day you town will celebrate its very own holiday. Check
your journal calendar for the date, and don't forget to visit Tortimer!
August:
12th -- Meteor Shower -- From 6pm to 9pm, join your villagers at the Lake to
see the summer meteors. Again, find Tortimer to get your commemorative gift!
21st -- Founder's Day -- Head for the Well and listen to Tortimer offer his
thoughts on the founders of the world of AC.
Every Day -- Morning Exercises -- Led by Copper, these exercises continue all
month. Be sure to get your prize from Tortimer once you've collected 14
stamps on your event card!
September:
1st Monday -- Labor Day -- Listen to Tortimer's thoughts on the town's
progress and you will receive a gift.
19th -- Not a holiday in AC, but it IS the day AC came out in America
(9.19.02). Be sure you celebrate accordingly by creating your own religion
around Animal Crossing, complete with a shrine... or you could just play AC
longer than usual that day.
23rd or 24th -- Fall Sports Fair -- Same time table as the Fall Sports Fair,
but a different prize from Tortimer.
Varies -- Harvest Moon -- The date changes each year, so be sure to check your
personal calendar. Go to the Lake to see the gorgeous moon (pretty good
graphics on this one; props to Nintendo) and get your prize from Tortimer.
October:
2nd Monday -- Explorer's Day -- A day reserved for one of the major points of
Animal Crossing: exploring! Head over to the Well and talk to Tortimer to
claim your prize.
16th to 25th -- Mushrooming Season -- For each mushroom you find between 8am
and 9am, Nook will pay 5,000 bells, so get up early! Five mushrooms will
appear about every 15 minutes in your village. Find them before your
villagers do!
31st -- Halloween -- This is a big holiday in the world of Animal Crossing.
Two weeks before the event, Nook will stock candy in his store. Try to buy
every piece, and keep them in your house in the basement or in cabinets, etc.
On Halloween, fill your inventory with candy. Your villagers will all be
disguised as Jack, with Jack-o-Lanterns on their heads. They will run after
you and if they catch you, they'll ask for a piece of candy. If you claim you
don't have any, they will turn your clothes to rags or change something in
your inventory. *TIP* Wear a self-designed pattern. If your clothes get
turned to rags, you can simply go back to your pattern and change clothes
again. Go to the Well and find Tortimer (he'll be in costume, but he won't
chase you, so you'll know it's him). Get your prize and you can hide it in
old letters or put it in your basement. Then set out to find the real Jack
(also won't chase you, so you'll know it's him). Give him a piece of candy,
and he'll give you a piece of the rare Spooky furniture collection. Then
leave the acre, and you'll have to find him again. Keep doing this as long
you want. You can collect the whole series if you don't run out of candy
first! Jack will be in your town from 6pm to 1am.
Varies -- Harvest Moon -- See September.
November:
1st Tuesday -- Mayor's Day -- At the Wishing Well, Tortimer honors the most
important citizen in town: himself! Be sure to collect the gift he gives you.
11th -- Officer's Day -- To celebrate the two hardest-working individuals in
town, Tortimer will give you a momento to remind you to respect Copper and
Booker's authority all year 'round.
Every Sunday -- Fall Fishing Tourney -- Wake up early and try to beat the
biggest caught Bass of the day. You will collect a prize for each day you
catch the biggest fish. You can also find the Mayor and receive a gift from
him.
4th Thursday -- Harvest Festival -- From 3pm to 9pm, a melodrama will play out
in your town, except it's for real! Poor Franklin the turkey has been invited
to dinner... or is it AS dinner? Help him out by finding him first (he may
be hiding behind a house) and talking to him. To help him, head for the Well
where a special feast is being prepared. Steal the knife and fork, and then
go hunting for Franklin again. As thanks, he will give you a piece from the
rare Harvest furniture collection. Keep stealing the silverware as many times
as you want to collect the whole series... and no one but you and Franklin
will be any the wiser.
4th Friday -- Sale Day -- The day after Harvest Day is Sale Day. Head to
Nook's for some grab bags with great items at low prices. Redd will also be
in town peddling his usual wares. Be sure to check out his tent and also talk
to the Mayor!
December:
1st -- Snow Day -- Though you may not see snow beginning on this day, the
Mayor will still want to tell you about it. Talk to him to get a cool prize.
23rd -- Toy Day -- I know, I know, there's no Christmas in Animal Crossing.
Why? Who knows; it's obviously Nintendo's call, and us true-blue Animal
Crossers are still reeling from the shock. But hey, at least you still get a
present from Tortimer, which will vary depending on whether your character is
a boy or a girl.
24th -- Jingle Comes To Town -- From 8pm to 1am, Jingle the lovable reindeer
will be in your town to spread joy and gifts. Find and talk to him five times
and he will give you a piece of the rare Jingle furniture collection. You can
collect more pieces by walking far away from him after receiving your gift,
changing into a very different outfit, and talking to him again. If you're
lucky, he'll think you're a different person. If your outfit's not different
enough, he'll know you're trying to trick him and he'll keep his presents to
himself.
31st -- New Year's Eve -- Celebrate another year as an Animal Crosser by
joining your animal friends at the Lake, where a huge clock has been built to
count down the final moments leading up to the New Year. Starting at 11pm and
continuing until 1am, there will be a fireworks display. Be sure to check it
out and talk to Tortimer to receive a gift. Don't forget to return later on
January 1st for the New Year's Day celebration!"
As you can see, some fake holidays, but they're there.:p

Well today at work I got a Christmas bonus of $50. So, guess what I spent it on. Yup, that's right, I reaquired a copy of Kirby's Adventure. 'Cause you know, I had a little big of cash leftover when I got this.:)
I figure I can keep myself from getting too addicted. I mean, it's not like there's going to only be one day of a year that a specific bug/fish appeared.
Besides, there's no e-Reader support. Which is a MAJOR plus in my book. It means I don't have to spend a whole lot of extra cash to get the full experience.
Oh, and my wireless router is apparently compatible, according to the connection test. Soon as I'm able to get a code, I'll send it out. Depending on how it works.
I haven't been able to play much yet (I still have to meet my neighbors), so I haven't seen how different the shops are yet. More specifically, the Town Hall and the Lost and Found. The town hall at least seems to still have that pelican. Is it still possible to send letters/presents to neighbors, or maybe even online?
marcus
12-10-2005, 04:03 AM
The lost and found is now a part of the town gate. Speak to the dog on the left (forgot his name) and he'll give you a list of all the items he has in stock. It's a lot clunkier than selecting the items individually because I think you have to take everything he offers, but free stuff is free stuff. The first thing I got was a sailors outfit... kind of ironic because I'm going back to active duty in 2 days.

Flower Fest Second week of April
Everyone in town grows a flower garden around their house, the best garden (by style and originality) wins the Flower Trophy.

Fireworks obviously. Talk to the mayor and he will give you a sparkler. Talk to him again to get a Roman Candle. After you use or trade them you can go back for another as many times as you want.
Acorn Festival Second week of October
Meet Cornimer the acorn-headed King of the Acorn Festival. No matter what you think he's not just the mayor in a costume, really he's not. Bring him enough acorns and he gives you pieces of the ultrarare, ultracool (according to the strat guide) Mushroom furniture collection.
New Year's Eve Countdown Dec 31 - Jan 1
Celebration, fireworks, and the mayors giving out party poppers.
----------------------------------
Not nearly as many or as good as the GC holidays. :(
So this month we have a Fishing Tourney on Sunday the 18th and The New Year's Eve Countdown.

Oh, it just finished! That took FOREVER! No, wait...it just glitched on me is all. It's showing an empty text bubble with the arrow, but I'm unable to do anything. Guess it's time to turn it off and meet Resetti again after all these years. Um, 2 years I think. Come to think of it, the last time I played Animal Crossing was either in a November or a December.

I just met Resetti for the first time a little while ago. Freaked me out. He scared me with all that "anger-management" problem talk. I don't think I'm gonna risk his wrath ever again.
Draygone

Resetti didn't appear for me. And the game remembered the code I put in. And I'm trying to connect online again, and it's taking forever again. And now it just froze again. Maybe I'll try going somewhere and see what happens.
...Yup, taking forever again. Suggestions?
EDIT: Upon furthur inspection, it seems that my DS simply doesn't want to connect to my router all of a sudden. I did a test connection, and it encountered the same problem as when I tried to use a friend code (minus the locking up), and the connection failed. The test worked earlier, so I have to wonder if NWC is over-logged right now or something.

Turn off your computer's firewall. That usually solves all of my connection problems on and off the DS.
Draygone
12-11-2005, 10:40 AM
Okay, I think I fixed it. I went into my router's numbers.number.number address on IE and changed it's security settings that required me inputting a WEP Key on my DS. And the connection was immediately successful.
Oh, BTW, Nintendo, Sony, and everyone else with online systems, it shouldn't take more than a minute to realize that there isn't a successful connection!! :upset

I recommend you all post your Friend Codes for every DS game you own in the username topic.
Aren't there only 3 NWC games so far? And like nobody on the planet bought Tony Hawk Sk8land. I'm getting Mario Kart for christmas and already have AC. I may get Metroid Prime Hunters when it comes out.
Draygone
12-11-2005, 10:22 PM
OK, I'm not entirely sure what just happened. I tried connecting and it was taking forever again, so I assumed that the darn thing got busted again. Not sure if that's the case though, as after getting a good test connection (after changing that WEP Key), I once again tried invitin a friend, and it started to take forever, only to finally tell me that the server was busy.
Has anybody else had nearly as much trouble as I have had?
BTW, turning off the computer's firewall is not an option for me. This thing's relatively new, and I'd rather try to keep this thing virus-free for as long as I can.
Apparently not. Perhaps your DS hates you?
Try giving it a go at a McDonalds and see if anything changes.
Draygone
12-11-2005, 10:36 PM
McDonalds doesn't have a Wi-Fi spot here. The Baymont Inn nearby it does, but I'd rather not bother with that anyway.
Just did another connection test. It failed. Something is constantly changing somewhere that my DS isn't able to keep up with. I've got the IP stuff set to auto-detect, so it probably isn't that.
EDIT:Problem solved.
*is off to buy the dongle*
Naruto
12-12-2005, 12:39 AM
Off to buy dongle? You don't have to go anywhere to get one. Anyway, I was aobout to ask if you had checked the Nintendo Wi-Fi site and forwarded those ports and stuff but, yeah go with the dongle. I've been using it for MK and AC with no problems.

Bah, if only I had payed attention to the compatability site better. I figured that if the connection tests worked that meant that I had a compatable router. And when I looked at the site, I didn't pay enough attention to which router I was looking at. Out of all the Belkin routers that Nintendo had listed, I had to have the one that was incompatable.
What's worse, had I realized the problem sooner (say, yesterday morning), I would've been closer to having that RPGM2 demo done. I wasted so much time trying to get online.:(
Look on the bright side; at least you didn't break anything.

Did anybody win their Fishing Tourney? I completely forgot about it until the last half hour. Biggest I caught was a 30-something inch sea bass but Walker won with a 43.8 inch one. Everytime I caught a really big fish it turned out to be a tire. :(

If you got it to the mayor before the tourney was over you probably did win. Nothing special happens at 6 they just tell you the tournaments over and Tortimer leaves. If you turned in the biggest fish in time you should get a letter with the trophy in it.

According to various information on my computer, the dongle is an accepted signal. But it doesn't have a lot of "activity" so far. 557 "sent", 263 "recieved". And copper doesn't seem to notice that nothing's happening. I really don't want to disable my firewall to get through, yet at the same time I don't want to give up and turn off the game, as I went and did a few things that I don't want to lose, and of course didn't save before trying to connect.

How about everyone suggest a time and day of the week?

I'M ONLINE!!!!
Yeah, dunno what the problem was. Nintendo WFC might've been down, although just a few minutes ago I was retesting connections and found that the DS had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi Dongle. So, I connected it directly to the computer (I previously was using the included cable), and it suddenly works.
So yeah, I've got invited friends turned on, or something. Oh, and my town has cherries, so feel free to grab a few to your own town if yours doesn't have cherries. I'll be leaving my DS online all day while I'm doing stuff, so you might find me just standing idly in the meantime.
When I leave my gate open I hid behind a house and no one's the wiser.
I'm all about stealing your cherries. What's your friend code again?

I'm not too worried about people finding me. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm gonna stand out in the open.
Oh, BTW, my house is a mess. Don't want to bother keeping it up until I upgrade my house and have actual room for different arrangements. Oh, and if it's possible to go into my save room, you'll find my sister sleeping.
I've also taken up merchandising in my town. I've got a Great Dragon Gaming shirt on display at the Mable Sisters' shop.:)
Oh, in case anyone's wondering, my DS ran out of power last night while trying to connect. Good thing it saves when you try to connect online. That wi-fi sure does use up a lot of power.

Heh, I had a splendid time in Cactopia. After some sightseeing, I went ahead and did some plundering before he returned. I smuggled some oranges, caught a Koi, snatched some expensive seashells and plundered his town of fossils, earning me a cool 15,000+ Bells and something to plant. I also found an amusing Clankoid and bought a slingshot.
~A man may fight for many things: his country, his principals, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of bells, an amusing Gyroid and a sack of non-native fruit~
Yeah, anyway, I dropped some Groovy wallpaper at Loki's doorstep as a little "Thanks for all the neat stuff", and he eventually got up and came over to see me. We chit-chatted idly for a while, enjoying the weather whilst we thrashed each other with nets and shovels. We then hopped into the Able Sisters shop and I happily put my Ryner pattern on display, also admiring his spiffy White Mage getup, which was on display already.
Due to my overharvesting back in Beefsmov, I had no peaches in hand, so I promised him some the next time I stopped by to pluck his town dry (Though, I actually just grabbed everything I could carry).

Hardly the case with niche games that are being stopped in production, such as Phoenix Wright.

You got to think of the developers well-beings, they don't want to overproduce a game. Their goal is to make profit. If the game is in high demand, they'll make more. You can't go back on making too many though.
Perhaps it was just your local store. The last few stores I went to had plenty of copies, and plenty of people snatching it up.

But who knows for sure?

When are we going to organize Pavilion fishing, bug catching, hide and seek, race, whatever else, tournaments?
I'm guessing in due time.
We will begin organizing and taking suggestions once everyone's online and ready, so yeah.

Here's a list of random events I've been formulating ever since I started messing around with the Wi-Fi:
1. Treasure Hunts 1- You bury a specific item somewhere in the village and you have to find it. First to find it, wins.
2. Treasure Hunts 2- You bury items all over the village and whoever digs up the most wins.
3. Fishing Tourney 1- Whoever catches the most fish wins.
4. Fishing Tourney 2- Whoever catches a specific fish first wins.
5. Bug Catching 1- Whoever catches the most bugs wins.
6. Bug Catching 2- Whoever catches a specific bug first wins.
7. Hide And Seek- One person is "it", the other three hide. The last one to be found wins, the first one to be found is now "it". Everytime you win you get 1 point, first to three points is the winner.
8. Race/Relay- You set a specific course to run and the first to complete te course wins. You could also set this up to be a relay race.
9. Tag- One person is "it" the other three hide. If the person who's "it" touches you, then you are out. The last one standing wins. The first one tagged is now "it" and the winner gets 1 point. First to three points wins.
10. Lumber Competitions- Whoever chops down the set number of trees first wins.
And this list could go on and on. There's a bunch of stupid contests that we could go on about for hours, so eventually I guess we'll have to.
It is all stupid awesome.
Loki's DS apparently ran out of battery or somesuch, so it disconnected before I could place the peaches around town. I am sad.
Might as well find someone else to plunder. Majio?

That's my hope.
Well! That was fun.
I had a dandy time at Majio's. He was quite protective of his stuff, therefore I plundered little. He also trapped and interrogated me in his house, confiscating all the apples I took... or did he?
:wily
Seriously, though, we did plenty. We had a short shovel/net duel upon arrival, which turned into a somewhat lagged axe/me standing there duel (my DSL connection's been very screwy lately. The situation was remedied in due time. And as usual, I put my Ryner design on display at Able Sisters'.
Later on, he turned on his timer and we had a fishing contest, in which I won 10-8, one of mine being the legendary, 15,000 Bell stringfish. I was very, very pleased.
Anyway, after the contest, he stated that his battery was nearly out of juice, therefore we made a mad dash for the gate so I could leave without losing all my neat fish, and so he could see me off. We made it in time.
Now I'm stuck with loads of fish until Nook N' Go opens at 8 tomorrow. Eh, it's a living.
Oh, and Loki, I wish to inform you that Peewee likes you. He showed me the letter you sent him about Annabel and said it's impossible for "even him" to dislike someone so funny. Congrats, you won his heart, and now he lives with me. Burn.

I dont know why people dont just leave their DS' plugged in when they play at home, especially with a game like this.

I'm going to start keeping my DS plugged in. I'm tired of having to recharge it every day now. It took two or three days to need a recharge when I only had Nintendogs and Advance Wars but AC and MK have greatly increased my playtime.

I think it would also be a good idea to edit your original post, instead of making a new post every time you open or close your town, just put a time and date whenever you update. will prevent the thread from getting bogged down. Oh, and maybe post your town info here too, but again, only edit your post, instead of making a new post.

I just lost Robin. Well, maybe it was within the last 5 days. 'Cause I haven't played much at all since Christmas. Her letter to me was interesting, though.

But the IMPORTANT thing is
it's all about me. 'Cause
I'm moving. And it's sad."
Oh, and that song I got from KK last week was Comrade KK.

It was opened for hours today. HOURS. I'm going to bed now, so I'm not opening.
Loki's DS apparently ran out of battery or somesuch, so it disconnected before I could place the peaches around town. I am sad.
It didn't run out of battery because it was pluged in, I have no idea why it crashed. But when I checked on it there was a picture of that mole and it sayed the game was dumb and I had lost all unsaved progress, but when I restarted nothing was lost.
I donno.
Oh, and Loki, I wish to inform you that Peewee likes you. He showed me the letter you sent him about Annabel and said it's impossible for "even him" to dislike someone so funny. Congrats, you won his heart, and now he lives with me. Burn.

Has anyone else tried entering my town. Loki, if you are on, could you check, since i know you have been in my town before.

i think I had some wicked handlebars or something.
they was tight.
Did anyone attend the AC New Year countdown? I did, especially since I set my DS' time three hours behind. Party Poppers are fun. K.K gave me a cool tune I now oft play on my new gold stereo, which I found in the trash. Also, Chevre gave me her picture. It's on my table. She gives me nice stuff all the time. She says "bii".
Next day, HRA put me down big time and I got an unlucky fortune from Tortimer. However, the bad is trumped by the good. My "mom" sent me 10,000 Bells, Nookway opened, and I managed to make some cash off my three-day-old fish stash. Furthermore, Bob gave me an MVP shirt in return for the orange I gave him for his birthday, and Peewee was wearing my Ryner pattern. I am pleased.
Now to fish my buttock off and pay for the damn house.
Ooh, and my orange tree sprouted. Yay!
I need a mushtoush that a pirate would have.
I totaly missed the countdown because of work. All I got was two popers this morning.
I'm saving them for some compleatly random day.
yeah i loaded up on poppers. hopefully i've got enough to last till next year. gonna have to live pretty tight with the ol' item gathering for awhile. should be worth it in the end though. >_>
however, i missed the actual event.

I'd never seen an AC holiday before so I was a bit underwhelmed. Not that I expected something grandiose but i wish the fireworks were varied and the villagers would have mingled in front of the town hall oohing and ahhing rather than acting about exactly the same as they always do. It was still better than Regis' New Year's Eve show though.

I was underwhelmed. I still have 4 poppers though.
Fireworks were pretty nifty.

I have enough bells to pay off my next house extension, but I think I'll wait and let my bells gain more interest.<_<
