    Console MMOs

So far there have only been two (that I can think of): Final Fantasy XI and EverQuest Online Adventures since True Fantasy Live Online for XBox was cancelled.

The only MMO I've played is EQoA. I have a slim PS2 so no HDD means no FFXI. And I've never had a good enough PC to play games besides I prefer console games anyway. I liked playing EQoA, being an MMO meant I could pick it up and play anytime. There was always something to do. Unlike so many games where if you get stuck on a certain part you can't really do anything until you get past it. And I did manage to develop a few in-game friends.

Now with the new generation starting it seems like there'll be more console MMOs, eventually. XBox already has four announced: FFXI, APB (action), Huxley (shooter), and the Marvel MMORPG and PS3 has Endless Saga and the DC Comics MMORPG. Most of those won't be around for a few years though.

Well, yeah. That's kinda the point of forums. Ya know, discuss the topic. Have you played any console MMOs? I know a lot of people he play(ed) FFXI and at least one other person played EQoA. Did you like them? Are you interested in any of the ones coming for 360 and PS3? Are there any I forgot to mention? Or anything else related to the topic. Heck, even stuff not related to the topic cause eventually that always happens anyway.

I play MMOs on PC, the way they're meant to be played, OOOHHHHHHH.

Though seriously, all the MMOs out now I can get more powerful counterparts on PC for, and will continue to for a little while still (Phantasy Star Universe).

I cannot wait for PSU! In the new EGM it finally showed screens of the Online mode, plus now it is up to 6 players.

I've played both EQOA and FFXI. Right now, I like FFXI better. EQOA is easier to make progress in, but the world is empty and FFXI's world seems more interesting to me.

An MMO Maker would not be possible. There'd be issues with needing a bunch of servers, keeping your games updated, and of course if there are a bunch of MMOs made, it's going to be hard getting most people to play yours instead of one of the others. I'd recommend making an MMO-simulation.

Sure it would, each creator would get a square section of land. Each square would connect to the next. Players would roam in and out of each creators area. Agetec could provide the servers and each creator would pay a monthly fee. I am not saying it would be easy, but the fact that we are thinking about it means that someday, it will happen.

Imagine it is 1981 and someone is trying to explain how a MMORPG works. Seems pretty unlikely, but not unimaginable.

One day, RPGmaker tools and online technology will be sufficent enough to accomplish this. Even if thats when we are all old enough to get a senoir discount.

Well yeah, that might be possible, but everyone having their own separate MMO won't likely happen.
