Everyone remember the "Complete Garbage (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3850)" contest for RPG Maker 3? does everyone remember it ends on the 20th?
how many people are taking part? does anyone think they will need an extension? Let me know these things.
Remember a while back, I was looking for reviewers? well, the vast majority of you who sent in reviews SUCK. I got one review submission that really depressed me. here is that review:
Game - The Faith of One
Reviewer - *********
It's a good game but kind of long.
8/10
AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
there's only ONE good review that was sent in, and that was by pandemonium (it was very, very good). So pandemonium, if you want the "job" as the official reviewer, just say so and it's yours. if you don't, thats fine too.

Yay! :extreme and such. Yes I'll take the job gladly.
And I plan on entering the Complete Garbage contest but I shan't need an extension. It shouldn't take me but like two days to actually put the game together. In case anyone cares it's the title withheld Monster Rancher inspired game.

Stupid non editing thread. I meant to ask can I review for all RMs even though I only submitted for RM3?

I'd totally do reviews, but y'know, I have no ways of playing the games.

I have an idea for a game for your contest.
It is extremely short, but not that terrible. More of a joke entry, really.
Do you mind joke entries? It won't waste any more than 20 minutes to load, play and review.
And that's if you're slow.
Peace.

you can review games for whatever RPGM you want. you know the address to send them to.

That review's funny.:lol
I'm not sure if I'll create something for the junk contest. First I'm working on something else due around the 20th.

I won't be entering the contest. I've decided that I am just going to make a good game :)

After I get RPGM3 on the 25th i can finally play the games... a little late eh? Oh well.

Not really, since people are still making their games.

I'm with you on that... I started building a game for the contest, but it actually started turning out pretty good (other than for the story). I guess I'd really have to force myself to make something really bad!

Actually I think the game I'm entering isn't going to be crappy. I mean the gameplay itself is goofy but its funny and enjoyable. Maybe it doesn't belong in the contest.

Three's company with this idea. I started to make a bad type game but when the ideas started flowing in I scrapped the bad idea type and started to make, what will hopefully be received as, a well-done game. RPGM 3 is starting to look like a much better editor than I thought in the first place.

I would have loved to enter the contest but I just don't have time, what with school and my Rpgm 2 Project.
Plus if I had made a game for the contest I would so have come in 1st.
I'm just that good at making compleat and total garbage... :|

I could probably start "reviewing" after the semester is over if you need another reviewer.
My crappy rpg is already done.
But with exams coming I just haven't bothered going to the store and buying a max drive.
My crappy rpg will definately be in before the 20th

I'm making an entry for the contest, which I also am a bit concerned may be a bit too good to win (And considering that I'm working my ass off to put as much godawful bad content in this thing, that's pretty sad).
The dialogue and "plot" are horrible, but the gameplay seems, dare I say, fun?
I also have a feeling it may be one of the longer (Longest?) entries into this contest. Though still not more than probably an 8-9 hour game, even if I manage to cram everything I want into this baby. We're talking a whole half-hour of "plot" stretched out with tons of sometimes long and boring random encounters.
A time extension through Christmas wouldn't hurt, but the 20th seems fair enough.

Not that it really matters all that much but I'm going to start doing reviews so that the Review link on the new games format won't always be empty. I'll start with RM3 games since they tend to be shorter and easier to get through. If anyone with a submitted game particularly wants me to review it soon send me a PM.

Well I might write some small reviews for some of the RPG Maker 2 games I have on my Max Drive, though it probably won't be till Spring Break. Since I already have to play though a good bit of them to get good screenshots, I might as well review a few of them. And mine would be much longer than one sentence. I'm not sure I've even capable of writing one sentence in a post.
One idea if you want to start reviewing again is to give a guidline to what you want to see in reviews, like what sections and such it should have, appropriate length, and an example of a good one. Given instructions even mediocre writers should be able to turn out something decent, plus tech oriented people love instructions (our Postmodernism teacher has realized this and includes them with our papers, since I go to a highly tech oriented school without a big liberal arts department [GA Tech]). I know because I lean more toward the technical side than artistic and creative, and though I can manage without instructions for things its nice to have some structure to go by. But I think this would prevent or at least lower the probablility of getting so many bad reviews. Or if you already did this, and it failed, I don't know what to say.

EDIT to my above post: Since there's a few RM2 and RM1 games that I've already played and finished before I'll write reviews for those first but I might replay them to refresh my memory first.

Not that it really matters all that much but I'm going to start doing reviews so that the Review link on the new games format won't always be empty.Well besides that, one can assume Valk is going to be posting all the Anything Goes Contest reviews in their respective places. One idea if you want to start reviewing again is to give a guidline to what you want to see in reviews, like what sections and such it should have, appropriate length, and an example of a good one. That's a decent idea, but of course we'd want to leave it open for people who want to review games their own way. So, an optional format for those who needed, or freestyle.
