    Move It Or Lose It!

Is it just me, or does your party always move incredibly slow, even when running in RPGM3?

Not that this is too much of a problem, but just something I thought I'd mention.

I've noticed too. It starts out slow then picks up speed when running.

Hold the R2 button with the run button and you go slightly faster.

If your party moves incredibly slow...it's using too much cpu power

        aka too many graphics...

although some dungeons apparently uses tons of cpu power

when in play test push select and see what your graphics/cpu is at
        when u run

Actually, I really meant the characters themselves walk pretty slow when compared to other RPGs. But yeah, I had that problem once, where I had too many things happening at once on my screen, so the gameplay was choppy. But when I saved and restarted, it was fine again. ::shrugs::

I think the walking speed is too slow. The run speed is decent though. Dungeons are notorious for eating the CPU cycles. I carefully designed my dungeons to avoid as much slowdown as possible. I might write a FAQ about that. It's not completely consistent on why it happens, but it's not difficult to avoid, and you can still get pretty complex dungeons if you're careful how you build them. Occasionally you can get slowdown in towns as well, but not nearly as badly as you can get with dungeons.

I don't see how it occurs either. I think it might be because of your POV in regards to graphics(like for example, the game doesn't slow down when I'm not facing an object such as a chest, but it lags like heck when I do, even if I'm kind of far away from it).

Yup, walking speed, too slow. You always want to run.

So far what I've found that helps, is to prune off or shorten long dead ends, and don't use the entire space given to use for a floor. Leave some empty space between passages. Another thing I've done is spread a dungeon across several floors... where you have to go down, explore, then go back up to reach another area, or vice-versa. Preview the dungeon and rotate the camera with the CPU display on, there will be certain angles that trigger the 100% load. If you can maintain a sense of direction (no compass), this will point you to the areas that need trimming/pruning.

I actually like the walk/run speed. It makes my world feel bigger then it actually is. I do hate that stupid lag i get though whenever i go to cast magic...so annoying.
