Ok, since yesterday after my trick for reading disks stopped working, I had something new happen. It still read the disk but when I "entered" the disk it went up with a black screen, then it went back to the menu. It only did it once yesterday but when I try to use it today it keeps doing it. Does someone know why it is doing this and how I can fix it?

I've had that problem before. It's similar to the DREaded Disk Read Error. It recognizes the disk, but can't read it.
Again I suggest getting a new PS2, unless that HDD of yours is a must-keep. If you don't have an HDD and don't plan on getting one though, then definately get a new one.

I figured it out.
I decided to clean the laser today and while I was doing this the wires going from the disk reader part up to the top part came out. When I put them back in I put them in backwards. I didn't think it make a difference but it did. I had were the blue part went up, which is correct, but they were not going in the correct direction. So now it seems to be working fine. I do not know how it happened yesterday because they weren't flipped around. Oh well time to go play some more DOA2.I was like a Cloud once!!!!Comment
