    Sprites?

    Does anyone know how to make decent sprites? I REALLY need help in this department -- maybe write a tutorial? Or better yet, can someone make a couple of sprites for me?

    Thanks =)

      Re: Sprites?

      Making sprites takes skill. While it's probably possible to give better advice, all I can say is keep practicing until you get it looking right. What I do, and this takes a lot of time, is pretty much edit the sprites pixel by pixel.

        Re: Sprites?

        If you want to make really big sprites (let's say boss fights for your games), perhaps you should make an outline of the sprite in a medium sized box. After that, you should add color, shading, and make it more detailed. Then I suggest you resize the sprite to make it bigger and then add more detail after that. That's just what I'm trying to do right now, anyway, for a future project. You can try it out, I'd think it'd be a good idea, but this is only if you want to make big and good looking sprites.

        As for other things, I have nothing.

              Um, by cheap, I assume you mean not very good, in which case, no, it is well worth the $60 (though that's up to you; try the free trial). It is very powerful, although it is in 2D and not 3D. Though the 2D is pretty nice quality.

                You can do 3D with RPG Maker XP. It just takes a lot of skill and effort.
                But yeah, the 2D is pretty good. Nice and bright!

                        The whole haywire problem is from the servers being hacked or updated thats what the offical site faq said. Or it's that the servers are down again either way sprites are crap make characters from scratch

                            Indeed. I'm thinking whether it would be worthwhile to delete them and unlock the topic, or whether it is more likely no one will add to this topic anyway.
