    Nomed Legna II: Demonic Eclipse

I recently finished working on my game Nomed Legna and I am currentily coming up with the sequel. Right now I don't have the right drive needed to show you guys the first one, so for the few that were at all interested in the game, it could be a while. The following is what I thought of so far starting with the characters.

    Croix
    Bio:
He is an evil man that enslaved Cain and forced him to do his bidding. Croix is an unusual human with the ability to absorb demons. In NL1 he summoned the demon Astaroth in order to become a demon himself. After a totally one sided battle, with Xero standing little chance, he is actually defeated. The result of his defeat causes Xero to be transported to the Netherworld.

    G.O.D.D. (Grand Organic Disassembling Device)
    Bio:
A machine created long before the ancient humans. The purpose of G.O.D.D. is to dissemble organic matter and create new organisms with that matter. Recently it hasn't been doing its job, preventing more living things to come into existence. G.O.D.D. is directly over the earth and is known as the moon by the ignorant masses.

    Sephirot
    Bio:
The youngest member of the Celestia Counsel. He has been plotting to overthrow the counsel and the 7 Kings of Hell. Sephirot has been behind the scenes of NL1, manipulating Xero's movements. His motives are currently unknown.

    Dremway
    Bio:
He is an angel that is obsessively hunting Xero. Dremway has a strong prejudist againsts all demons, but despises Xero's existence most of all. He used to be the head of the Holy Knights until he murdered Raziel, a noble demon and the father of Xero. This racist angel follows Xero into the Netherworld to finish what he started.

So far this is about all I got. The only other thing I thought of so far is a little tweak to the combat system. Physical attacks do not hurt your opponents, but is used to build up momentum. Momentum is used to perform powerful attacks to show the demons who's boss. You first start out with 0 momentum and in order to do any real damage to your opponents it is nessicary to build it up. That is about it for now.

If you have any questions about any of these that I haven't explained very well be free to ask. I will be honest that I may need some help with this game. I'm having difficulty thinking of new characters to help out Xero (his friends from the first game are not present.) Any suggestions would help.

I'm currently broke and don't have the money to get the right drive. Worse is I forgot what the name of the drive is. I will try to release Nomed Legna as soon as I can, though. Thank you for your patronage, Aminveloscasin. While I wait for my next pay day I will add some new material to the game to make it better for those interested.

Max Drive, which is alone or included in the Action Replay Max Evo.

Re: Nomed Legna II: Demonic Eclipse

Thank you, WilliamKirk. That is very useful.

Pandemonium, actual it is on RPGM3. I never mentioned much about which one it was on so it would be easy to have that misunderstanding. I am considering putting this one on RPGM2 if 3 doesn't work out too well with my combat system, though it isn't complicated.

On NL2 Demonic Eclipse one thing that will make things complicated is the lack of earning money. In battle you will not earn any money, nor will you start out with any money. The only ways to get money is selling items you collect or stealing from the residents of the Netherworld. Collecting and selling items is vital for survival. All the materials that you sell to or buy from are to/from the Shadow Man. His real name is unknown, he is known as the Shadow Man because no one sees any part of him other than his shadow.
Another difficulty in this game is the total lack of reviving abilities. There are no items to revive your fallen allies so be sure to keep them alive. The only way to revive them is through the Shadow Man. That is about all I got for now. I will try to come up with some allies for Xero and work on the plot. I have a general idea of how the story is suppose to go, but nothing concrete yet.

Sephirot, you need to change that name. It sounds a bit familiar...

Re: Nomed Legna II: Demonic Eclipse

I understand what you are thinking. I know that Sephirot sounds alot like Sephiroth. Many don't know this, but the idea for Sephiroth originaly came from the angel Sephirot (or I think he was an angel, my memory is rusty.) I named him for the reason of using biblical ties into the game. It is quite a powerful name so I thought that it would be perfect for such an important character. There may be alot of people that think that I took the name from FF7's Sephiroth, so I may consider your suggestion, Hedrum. If you or anyone could think of a name that would be more suitable for him then that would be fine. I don't want people thinking that I ripped the name off from Sephiroth.

A little research can go a long way. I'm sure there are other good sources to draw names from.

I posted some sites I found useful a while back here: http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/...?t=2541&page=1

And google'll show more, of course.

It's up to you though - either way's fine. Usually I'd agree with you, that since it has proper background it's fine to use (which, it is), but Sephiroth's the main antagonist of one of the two (FF7/X, for pure number of sales, I'm pretty sure) most well-known RPGs there are. This is also compunded by how (it seems) he'll be the main (or the first main) antagonist in your game.

Re: Nomed Legna II: Demonic Eclipse

Sephirot in the game isn't exactly an antagonist, but he isn't really a good guy either. His role is important and complicated, which kind of makes explaining his role difficult (without spoiling anything.) Sorry if this confuses anyone.

I have decided that NL2: Demonic Eclipse is going to be on RPGM2. I tried to use RPGM3's combat system, but you really can't gain any mp if you don't do damage (or at least from my experience.) In my opinion that is turn for the better because NL1 is kind of watered down do to lack of blood or gore. Now I can make it reach its true potential.

After thinking about it, maybe having no reviving items is a bit harsh. There will be some of them, but they will be limited.

I'm currently trying to think of ways that will allow the player to customize the characters. So far the only thing I thought of is having the player upgrade their stats instead of leveling up. Can you guys think of any ways I could allow customization in the game? I'm stumped.
