    Layout Editor and More

Okay, a couple questions to the experts...

    1) On the layout editor (and even on the field preview), it won't let me put objects below a certain point on my field - does anyone know how to fix that? I know it must be possible...why would they give you a bigger map than you can actually work with? I feel like I've tried everything, but it just won't happen... any ideas?

    2) Is it at all possible to play simultaneous quests? (for example: In FFVI, Your party separates into 3 parties and you get to play each separate quest they go on, eventually leading them to meet up).

    3) Is there a way for your PCs to change clothes? (such as dressing up like a different character to fool everyone else)

    4) Since I can't finish my map, I haven't fully gotten into creating the characters yet... however, from what I see, it looks like there is only ONE option for what a little girl looks like in the "walking" state... ... it's this little chubby girl who you can only change her clothes..please tell me there's a way to further change the appearance as you get more into creating these characters....

I think that's it for now, thank you so much whoever can answer these questions for me (especially #1)

I am planning a post this weekend that needs screenshots to explain what I am doing, but here is the gist of it:

To place objects outside town walls and around the bits where you walk out, just set your open space use for "open space" as opposed to balloon (this obviously only works when the town has that option).

Then just go to the new open space and place a buncha objects. use tall objects like trees buildings and grasses until you see what happens.

Now go back to the town editor and remove the open space.

The placed stuff is now outside the town walls!

You can get the pointer to the objects with the L2 and R2 (L&R1?) which switches between placed jhunque.

Once you get to the placed stuff, just move it around. The same barriers exist, so now you can't move these things back into the town, but you can place them nicely around the walls and at the entrance. You can hide partly Balloons in other open areas with Big Trees. You can place a wide variety of things, trees, and even buildings (I like using windmills in these situations because they move).

This is possible, but requires some pretty hoopy scripting.

You'll need to remove party members and replace them at key points.

You'd need to make a new character model and give it the same name with different colors.

You may want to use the excuse that their items are all in their other clothes or something because there is no way to track them.

Also make it a bit with no chance of battles as there is no way to track their levels, etc.

    No.

For more customization options try RPGM2. I hear some people find it more difficult, but it might be just a rumor.

    I hope that helps.

And welcome to the boards! There's a post about you (indirectly) in the Free Forum. You were member #699 and Valkysas likes big numbers and can't wait for member #700!

    Peace.

Thanks so much for all your help!!

In #1 about the layout editor was actually in reference to the field map. Is there really no way to build on your entire map?

Great info about towns though! I'm definitely going to use it when it comes time.

(I'll check out the other thread now too)

Is it possible you reached the maximum number of objects?

Or maybe the ground is not able to be walked on. In that case change the terrain and then add the objects, then change the terrain back.

I have not encountered the problem you mention.

        Good luck with it.

        Peace.

No you cannot build on the redzone!

However you can make pretty terrain changes which helps in the realism department.

          Split up your party?
Yes, it's very easy in fact I do that in part 2 of my series at the very beginning.

Create an event make it shared, have it look like a warp point with 7 modes
Make a decision branch with 3 different options on the first mode needs all three decisions. The second mode should have the 1st & 2nd options. The third mode should have the 2nd and 3rd option and the fourth mode should have the 1st and 3rd option. The 5th mode 1st option 6th mode 2nd option 7th mode 3rd option.

All modes except the first must be variable dependent to activate depending upon which choice is picked.

            Wow! Thanks so much!

Now that I know that there's no way to build, I need to recreate my map a bit. I had an island outside of that square before, so I was just incredibly confused.

Thanks for all the info. I didn't realize splitting up the party would be so simple
