Wild ARMS Alter Code F Tomorrow

Yea, the game that seemed like it would NEVER come out is finally (hopefully, I'M PRAYING) comes out tomorrow. It's a remake of Wild ARMS with new plot twists (I'm hoping they add some more story to Calamity Jane and that red haired female demon because they were interesting characters that weren't fleshed out enough), remade areas, better graphics of course, and a whole slew of other stuff. Wild ARMS was the only one in the series I've finished (although I'm about 10 hours into WA2 and still haven't unwrapped WA3) and I enjoyed it more than FF7 some 8 years ago so it's dear to me.

Anyone plan on buying it? I'm interested to see how they handle some scenes like the attack on that town early in the game, the really cool intro sequence (the one with the knight's being killed off by the demons), hear the remastered version of that whistling song, and see ZED AND BOOMERANG'S new character models.

Also, it's been a long time since I played the game, but who was that one demon that looked like a cross between a sphinx and a dog with a sheet over him? I remember being particularly BADASS as in he was incredibly mean, witty, and cunning. It was as if the entire plot revolved around his planning and he seemed to have his hands dipped in every afair in the game. I spent a long time trying to find out exactly WHAT he was because his character model was so freaking weird.

It's a pretty good series although the battle system is in need of a major overhaul. It's sort of like a combination of your conventional character based rpg mixed with Lufia 2 (the series especially the original have some devious puzzles). I'm currently playing Wild Arms 2 but that game doesn't really seem to get anywhere fast but Wild Arms 3 is pretty lengthy, the script is solid, and the graphics are excellent (especially in a series that's never been that great in the graphical department).

I agree with marcus, in that the graphics in Wild Arms 3 are pretty good. I'm playing that one currently, nearly at the end, and the story is quite good, much, much better than 2, which seemed incomplete in nearly all aspects.

And now, I insert my total and complete surprise. (!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I had no idea that Alter Code F was a remake! I must get it if this is the case. I was telling myself that I really must play the first one again, might as well play it in glorious remake-titude(not a word, forgive that)

I'll get it sometime in Dec. I can only afford Dragon Quest 8...not to mention that it will take a me a while to finish it.

But I do look forward to playing Wild Arms.

the new intro animation isnt as good as the original. the intro music is the same note for note (yes!), just a higher quality version (yes!). any wild arms fan will know why that intro movie is so important.

I can't wait. I hope its not gonna be like RPG Maker 3's release where some stores had it on the shipping date, some the day after, some as late as friday. I odnt want to wait until friday. hell no.

the character models don't appeal to me. rudy looks to old, and cecilia doesnt do her little "booty dance" when she wins anymore.

I never knew how to get her to do that.

              Not that I tried.

I couldn't get into 3. The whole planet is sand thing really got me and the guns and reloading. When does the story start to pick up? I have only played a few hours in, but i just wasn't getting into it.

I stopped being interested in it with the whole looks like a fish thing.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Wild Arms 3, the story basically gets going after you get the first magic thingy. (Been a while since I played it).

But the real thing I enjoyed was finishing the story book. It was a great story.

Awww, I liked her little booty dance.

I bet they didn't keep Jane and Zed's awesome dialogue either.

Although being able to PLAY as Jane is a plus.

                        So, uh, yeah.

Re: Wild ARMS Alter Code F Tomorrow

                          RPGamer reviewed it. 4/5.

they say the game has a few translation problems, bad grammer at some points, oddly placed commas, and text that scrolls off the screen at points. they said these are rare, but they're still there.

the guy who translated this for agetec was a former enix employee. and agetec still ended up going back during the delays and re-writing most of the script.

Well, Enix also translated Mischief Makers and Illusion of Gaia.
