My response to IGN's RPG Maker 3 review

    Review can be found here

Your RPG Maker 3 review was so full of problems that I was compelled to write in and make myself heard. Please have someone who knows something about the series review the games in the future. lets go overt he screw-ups, shall we?

"but now the series has made its move to glorious 3D on the PlayStation 2."
Wrong. RPG Maker 2 was completely 3D as well. RPG Maker 1 has been the only US installment that was 2D.

"The last game was in 2D"
again. wrong. your reviewer has no idea what he's talking about, and with comments like this the RPG Maker community is just going to think he's an idiot.

on the subject of sharing games, the reviewer says: "There really, really should have been an official way to do this". there is. rpgmaker.agetec.com, as mentioned in the manual will lead you to two officially supported sites that host games.

"Not being able to trade will likely limit some folk's dedication, however."
again, you can trade games. the reviewer even mentioned that earlier on. of course, he's now contradicting himself.

It's rather sad when you can't be bothered to get your facts straight when reviewing a game. Of course I'm not surprised, as you had previously announced this as the US version of RPG Maker XP, which is a PC title.
I'll let you know if I ever get a response.

I'm guessing this isn't the first time you've done this.

Damn, this guy could of at least taken a few seconds to find out some info on the series' background. I guess that is a difficult task... If your made of sponge, wear square pants, and live in a ****in pineapple!

Now to review that nobody from IGN.

Completely unorganized, lacks common sense, has IQ of an apple, makes me mad, and completely overlooks the RPGM series. In conclusion, he is a total loser.

he said RPG Maker 2 was 2D. it was fully 3D.

he said RPG Maker 3 is hard. its not. ixzion made a game in 2 days with it.

            meh.

But it doesn't say RPG Maker 2 was 2D. It says it was 3D.

um... I think thats him saying RPG Maker 2, which came before RPG Maker 3, was 2D.

and yes, later on he says it was 3D.

he has absolutely no idea what the hell he's talking about.

Re: My response to IGN's RPG Maker 3 review

Hmm yup, he first suggests that RPGM2 was 2D, then later on said that RPGM2 was 3D.
If we were to rate the included sample game as its own title, it would probably get like a 3.
I think that's something we can agree on.

That review wasn't so terrible, but they certainly didn't have their facts straight half the time. I can't believe I used to pay to read their stuff (years ago, and it was only so I could look at the cool InSider stuff like those weekly Zelda articles and the Side-By-Side comparisons of multiple versions of different games). They seemed to have corrected themselves slightly by saying RPGM2 was 3D in the sentence about model choices.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

At least they reviewed RPGM3, unlike 2.

I think the reviewer just compared apples to oranges.

Steep learning curve? Compared to the other makers? nope...

Steep learning curve...compared to the other games...

Rpgmaker is more like learning to tell a good a story than playing a game...

I didn't see "the last game was in 2D" anywhere in the article and I did a search.

aw, they're fixing it. guess they took my advice.

but now the series has made its move to glorious 3D on the PlayStation 2.
that still needs to be fixed.
