The changes sound radical enough to approach a whole new crowd of players, but it won't, just like always, sounds good enough for me to buy on the other hand, when does it come out again?

There's no music change when going into battles? I'm not sure how to take that. On one hand, there's something to be said about hearing dramatic battle music when in battle, yet at other times I wouldn't mind hearing the level music in battle (so glad Zanarkand's music played through battles in FFX). I would have to hope you still hear music when in boss battles.
Despite these radical changes, there's still something immutably Final Fantasy-ish about the whole thing. Maybe it has something to do with casting Blizzara into a group of Bombs; maybe it's the rebel army of ragtag rebels out to overthrow an evil empire bent on conquering the world with an arcane magical tool; or maybe it's just the feminine heroes in odd clothing.
          Probably that last one.

The ATB reversal sounds interesting. I wonder if it'll work well. Though it once more means that people will have to charge when casting a spell. I don't mind that, though. I thought it was a nice touch in FF4.

          Typo.
The goal of this mission is to destroy the Rockeater, which is basically a T-Rex.
I've seen a pic of this "rockeater", and it looks very much like the T-Rexaur in FF8. Why couldn't they have named it that instead? Unless it's just a quickly thought-up name for the demo.
The one exception is the summon Hasmal's groaningly named skill Roxxor, about which the less said the better.
That's terrible! Again, I hope these aren't teh final names when the game gets released here.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about FF12?

I think I have lost interest in the series since playing 10....of course FF11 doesn't count.

the only reason i care is because it's final fantasy. it's interesting to see where this series is going... whether i agree with the direction or not.

I care about this game, because it sounds like it might be better than FFX. Plus, it's been so long since we had a real FF game, it feels like this is going to be the revival of an old series; sorta like when Metroid 4 was announced so long since Super Metroid (though hopefully we're looking at a better sequel than Metroid 4 was, IMO). I'm too used to getting a new FF game every couple years.

Indeed, it looks like they're actually going for an honest-to-goodness clean slate, which is one of the primary reasons I'm interested.

If you could care less about this game, regardless of the outcome, you can always keep an eye on Mistwalker.

But what they're writing on that clean slate isn't what I like about rpgs.

I haven't finished it yet but I like FF10. I don't know if that's just due to me playing very few PS2 RPGs though.

FFX is admittedly a decent game. It's just that they give you most of the subquests way late in the game, and most of them aren't fun. And some people don't like the voice acting, though I thought it was decent enough, though obviously not perfect. If anything, it's fun counting how many times the talking isn't synched well with the lips.

I'm sure the story will still be typical Final Fantasy - prettyboys and all.

One thing must be said, though, and that is that the revelation at "Home" is probably one of my favorites out of any game. The deal with Tidus revealed later on just confuses me.
