Re: Summons?
I know this is not quite what you are looking for, but as we have all noticed, RPG Maker 3 relies more on your ability to tell a story than it does to be very graphically good for cutscenes, etc. One thing you could do, is make a really good storyteller. There are a few backgrounds with certain monsters and such in them, and you could make a human character summon one of these monsters and show it in a storyteller, and then have your characters then battle the corresponding monster after the storyteller scene.
Better yet, you could make your party have a character battle with a normal human/wizard, etc who is going to summon the monster have yje character get beaten, do a storyteller or text description in between, and then go right to the battle against that summoned monster, fight till you kill then monster, then enter against the first guy again with however much hp you want, and then fight them to the end. I know it isn't much, but with this software, this is about the closest you can get besides the demon monster attack effects, and this is kind of a cool way to do something different."What we do in life echoes in eternity"-Gladiator

Re: Summons?
I find it funny that summoning is very common in the RPG genres, but technically none are in the RPG Makers. In RPGM2, though, summoning can be easily faked by the VFX editor. If you want summoning in RPGM3 your only real choice is using the skull and the demons. Unless if you want to the fighting a summoned monster idea ClericPrestonFirstClass mentioned, but I don't think that is what you have in mind.I had to change accounts. Re: Summons?
I haven't played very many RPG series, but aside from the Final Fantasy games and the game Summoner, I haven't heard of many RPGs that have summoning monsters be possible.
Well, I suppose there are MMOs like EverQuest and World of Warcraft, but they kinda don't count as traditional RPGs anyway."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: Summons?
In RPG Maker 2 I think people have "called" the enemies to be there summons too.
But you are right about the RPG Maker 3. It is really sad. They need to make a summon editor. That would be a nifty tool. Although it definatley isn't necissary it would be nice. I don't know how it would work. It would probably be like the character and enemy builders. With the ability to swap body parts too. Oh well I don't know if you guys would care for that much.I was like a Cloud once!!!!

Re: Summons?
A summon maker would be awesome for an RPGM. I don't think that will happen, but I hope they will add something similar in later installments.
Though alot of RPGs don't have a major focus on summons, practically all of them have some version. It could be as simple as someone appearing to assist in the attack or one move where a dragon appears and sets things ablaze (that could be the only move that does so.) Alot of my game ideas require summoning, so not having any choice in creating a summon is a main in the ass for me. This is just one of the things that is having me crawl back to RPGM2 like an ex-girlfriend I regretted dumping.I had to change accounts. Yeah, that takes a huge chunk of story I had planned. I need to consider trying RPGM2 for a game or two.Originally posted by JamosA summon maker would be awesome for an RPGM. I don't think that will happen, but I hope they will add something similar in later installments.
