    Terminator the TV series

    http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=11940
Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar's C2 Pictures, which produced Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, has pacted with Warner Bros. TV and writer Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds) for Fox's tentatively titled The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The Fox series will focus on robo-warrior Sarah Connor and her savior son John Connor.

Variety reports that Friedman will write the pilot and serve as executive producer-showrunner of the series, which will take place in the fictional time frame between the second and third "Terminator" features. Vajna and Kassar will serve as executive producers, with C2 senior vice president of development James Middleton also producing.

In addition, Vajna confirmed that C2 is in "the final phases of development" of a fourth "Terminator" film and that the series will have a link to what's being envisioned as a new feature trilogy.

"There will be a connection," Middleton said. Linda Hamilton is not expected to be involved in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And because the series will be focused on the Connor family, it's not anticipated that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a regular part of the series either.

Middleton said the series will explore what happened to Sarah Connor after the end of "T2," when the character went on the run. "She has the weight of the world on her shoulder and she also has to raise a 14-year-old son who may be the salvation of the world," he said.

Friedman said his "challenge is trying to figure out how to reinterpret (Connor) for television."

Because the "Terminator" franchise involves time travel and alternate futures, Friedman believe he'll be able to take a few plot liberties in the series -- emphasis on "few."

"The last thing I want to do is take a title and exploit it," Friedman said. "The show needs to stand on its own while still being respectful of the franchise."
    What a buncha assholes.

When will these idiots stop ruining movies by making crappy series of them?
    SirTMagus, you're so right.

The best part is that it's on Fox so if it actually is any good they'll just end up cancelling it.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Good or **** nothing seems to run long on Fox. They also seem to make good series get worse after the first season. I was a fan of Dark Angel, but they smeared **** all over it second season. Now it is nothing more than a vague memory. They ruined it and soon enough was canceled. This Terminator spin off will suffer a similar fate.

Fox doesn't actually do anything creatively with the shows they broadcast. Dark Angel most likely ruined itself.

Way to strike while the iron is cold...last big hit for the Terminator franchise was 1992, so of course you do a TV series and T4 nearly 15 years later. I like that exploitation is the furthest thing from his mind. It must have been flanked by creativity and originality though.

Able to take a few plot liberties=We wrote this while huffing glue.

Yep, more than likely it committed suicide. But the point is, Fox, no matter how good or bad a show gets they love to cancel it. The only show I think that's been on Fox and not canceled is the Simpsons.

Sure but come now, did Firefly HAVE to get cancelled?

And I shed no tears for Dark Angel after I suffered through that two-hour series premiere. Jessica Alba's one of the most beautiful people in the world but that girl needs to read a book.

As for this, whatever. Whatever. Terminator should've stopped after T2.

Ain't that the truth. T3 was utter crap and ruined the time travel continuity. Not to mention the acting and plot was all trash.

According to the last Terminator, which did ruin the movies..., shes in a base made for the president and such in a mountain for disaster occasions, with the guy as well. What I think is amazing is that terminator 2 was and is amazing for movie standards then and now, it's still better that most of the other movies I've seen today, and I still watch the copy i bought years ago.
