    Treasure Item Models

OK... I picked up RPGM3 again and have a question about Treasure Item Models.

    Why?

It seems that the player never sees the model you are required to set.

Unless I am missing being oblivious again.

The display commands seem to apply only to events, not system data. Using a treasure item to unlock a building only displays text and even an auto event with the treasure item as a condition can only display the item on it's pedastal, not freely like in the creation process of (treasure items).

Am I expecting too much again? I mean... shouldn't there be a way to display the model you choose in the editor???

Please tell me I am missing something obvious (again) and this is easily done.

Then please tell me how to do it!

But please do not tell me I am missing something obvious (again) and this is easily done without telling me how to do so!

Oh yeah... my way around this is to make storyteller events, but is that the best solution?

    Thanks for any insights.

    Peace.

Well Rodak to be honest I have no idea what your asking...

However...as far as objects on platforms/pedastal go you get to choose what you want on the platform...and some plots will involve stealing something on a pedastal...hence you need the object to disappear...which you can do.

For one of my plots something on the pedastal is stolen...hence the object
disappears...and if the player is the one to steal the object...they will see
    the object in their inventory...

If this hasn't answered your question please restate it.

I think they just didn't bother to disable the model selection part of the item creation screen even though it doesn't apply to treasure items. Or maybe there is some way to see it that nobody's noticed yet.

It just seemed like a waste of effort to select a model for a treausre item, yet never have that model appear in actual gameplay.

In contrast, if you make an item usable in battle the model appears on screen when the item is used.

I had hoped the same would happen when using Treasure Items. I am too fixated on creating interesting visual effects (thus my love of RPGM2).

I think Pandemonium2004 has the answer.

I was wondering the same thing....why do they even bother having pictures of the armor, treasure items, etc. if the only way you can see them is as a background on a storyteller. Conceivably, I could have a treasure item called "Lost Atari 2600 Game Cart" and use one of the mask treasure items for it, and nobody would know the difference, because it never shows up on screen anywhere. I think this is what the original post was trying to get across....
