I want to create a fighting style like Tales of Symphonia. I know this will be hard so I wanted a few suggestions and pointers. I don't even know how possible it is but I assume after alot of har work it can be done. So anyone with alot of RPG Maker 2 expirience would be appreciated.

....not possible... or not likely?
you'd have to set up some sort of parallel objects to stop your movement from going up and down, and also matches with your target, but when moving buildings, they can move past you with out your consent. sad to say, you'd have to do ALOTTA stuff to get 'near' tales of symphonia's battle system.I love lamp.

Yeah, it is possible, Nash has a great ACBS guide, and you could just apply it to a 2D setting.
Me and Doyle have been currently working on a ACBS with a combo system, it aint exactly finished yet, but its definitly on the right track.
But as for jumping like Tales of Symphonia, there are some good jumping systems, and placing events for your system to dectect wouldnt be too hard to do if its only in battle.
I am currently only saying that its very possible, but I currently am very buisy with my game to try and test out a new system. Good luck!Last edited by Biggie; 11-09-2005, 11:05 PM.

Where can I get Nash's ACBS Guide? I looked under the stuff in RPG Maker 2 and couldn't find it.
But thnks that will be a big help.
I am making a game with my firends in it. I made a character form and one person has filled it out so far. He happens to have only played one PRG game, and that is tales of symphonia. This caused him to fill out the form and thinking that the battle system would be alot like tales of symphonia. Not only that but since I was planning on building a different battle system besides the default it seemed like a good idea.I was like a Cloud once!!!!
