A while back I made a little movie about two guys that have the brain power of an eraser. The whole thing was about having them do stupid things like playing a real life version of where's Waldo in the mall. After watching it again I came up with an idea. I desided to make a spin off game. This is just a rough idea, mind you. Maybe, using RPGM2 I would make the game with over 100 bizzare mini-games. The game is about one of the two characters getting locked in a large mansion, after being stupid enough to lock the damn door himself. The only way out is through the top floor in a mansion of 10 floors (I know a bit much for a mansion.) In order to reach the top floor he was complete multiple mini-games on each floor. At the end of each floor is a boss battle to put your skills to the test. He wouldn't have to go through all of this trouble if he realized he has the key in his pocket, but he is a complete dumb ass. What are your thoughts on this? Keep in mind that the game is suppose to be cliched and bluntly put... stupid. Also, if you guys could think of any interesting mini-games that would be a big help (there are over 100 mini-games after all.) Bizzare messed up mini-games would help the most.

Re: My bizzare little idea
So far my most messed up idea for a mini-game is one that you set miget clones from a drunk man's hallucinations on fire. Of course you have to catch them first and that isn't easy. They move so fast that they are pretty much a blur. Good luck roasting 10 of them.
My idea for the boss battles are simply having the boss attack you while you try to solve a puzzle. After the puzzle is solved the boss dies in some imaginative ways. One is when the puzzle is solved your character is teleported into the boss' body, where you bust through. Definitely not a kiddy game, more like a drunk's passed out dream. I was kind of tired of games where you just simply beat the crap out of the boss and you win. I think this is a pretty neat change from most games, you have to use your brain to defeat them (because the main character doesn't have one.)
Do you think I should make this a game where you choose the name or just use the name I plan on using (I know I haven't told you the name yet)?I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

Re: My bizzare little idea
I'd like to use a rigged mouse-trap/spatula to catapult mice into a stewpot...maybe have cats trying to snatch them out of the air, so you have to get the timing right as well as the aim.
As for the name, I always identify with a character more if I can name it, but it depends on how deep you're delving into the story. Given that it's such a quirky game, you might be better off developing a specific characterization rather than having a blank slate for the player to fill.So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?

I like that mini-game idea, so I'll beef it up by shooting the mice out of a cannon (talking about overkill.) Ready, aim... get out of the way you stupid cat! You want it, take it! No animals were harmed during the typing of this post... but they were harmed during the making of this game.Last edited by Jamos' Old Account; 11-09-2005, 07:17 PM.I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

Re: My bizzare little idea
I like the idea too. And as for minigames, maby you can do something like chase the pink hippos or something (you are halucinating rite?) Also, you can do something like 10 minigames per level of mansion tehn it will be 100 minigames.
Also, you can do something like a run away from Michel Jackson thing so he cant like molest you or something.............hey you did say this isnt a "kiddy game"

Re: My bizzare little idea
Good luck coming up with so many mini-games. Try not to have too many similarities between them. If you are able to pull it off, this would be an interesting game indeed.Last edited by ErikaFuzzbottom; 11-09-2005, 11:36 PM."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: My bizzare little idea
Don't aim for 100. Even commercial games with 50+ people working on them can't do this. Try to make each mini game as fun as possible and don't worry about how many you end up having (quality > quantity basically). Take it from me, the one guy in history to run out of memory using rpgm2.

Re: My bizzare little idea
Yeah, 100 is a bit much to handle. I was originally planning on having like 10 mini-games a floor. Maybe I should half that, but I will at least see if I can come up with 100 mini-games.
I thought of something recently for the owner of the mansion. The owner is a nut which thinks you are the repo man and sends his minions (the bosses) to stop you from repossessing his stuff (I guess he is having finacial trouble.) How about that for a villian?I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475
