I've noticed that a lot of topics in the RPGM workshop have the second post, "are you talking about RPGM 1 or 2?" It seems to me that it might be advantageous to split the Workshop up into two seperate forums - one for each RPG Maker. Someone playing RPGM2 can't really benefit from a topic about Sniffy's sprites, and someone playing RPGM1 probably doesn't care about how to disable the O button in RPGM2. In addition, if a newcomer goes into the current workshop looking for the answer to his or her RPGM1/2 question, half the topics will be of no worth whatsoever. RPGM 1 and 2 are so different, I can't think of a single technical question that would apply to both of them. It seems to make little sense to have the topics merged together.
The only downside might be that another forum would "clutter up" the forums list. But really, it would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce clutter inside the workshop.
This idea seems like it would fit perfectly with the RPGM General topic. If we did go through with the split, we have RPGM General for game ideas, general questions, character/story advice, etc. (basically any kind of information that is abstract enough to be applied to RPG Maker 1 or 2). And then for specific technical questions you can post in the appropriate workshop forum.
Just a suggestion.
