    Presario 2100 Overheating (help)

My friend has a Presario 2100 series laptop (Model 2108US) that keeps overheating when he plays FFXI. His laptop specs are all far more than enough to run the game, and he's run several spyware/virus scans, formatted his HDD, and run the scans again and still has the same problem.

After googling it and looking around, it seems he isn't the only one with overheating problems. But how can he fix it? Everyone said "it could be this, it could be that" and all the this's and that's were different, so neither of us have any clue on what to do.

Anyone know how to fix this so he can play without having his computer shut down every 5 minutes?

its a laptop. everything is extremely close together, ventilation and cooling always suffers with them.

    its likely normal.

Yup. Mine ran okay for 2 years till it decided to be a lowly ***** and overheat and shutdown every 15 minutes.

Solution: a cooling unit. Thing with fans to lay it on top of.

          He bought one of those.

It still shuts down, cause one of the fans is gimp and runs slow.
