Anyone have XM radio?

Yesterday, my favorite radio station got taken off the air and replaced with some stupid black station(Yes, I know that's not a very fair thing to say, sue me). I thought we had enough hip-hop in this city already (cant sue me for that cause it's true), but I guess we're just not quite urban enough yet (Sue me). Philadelphia is now the biggest city in America without an alternative/modern rock station, and I'm left with no source for finding new songs.

Anyways, I've been thinking about getting XM radio for a little bit now, and this wonderful de-evolution (sue me) is going to make the decision seem a bit easier (for the record, I dont like any of these online radio things). So if anyone here has XM, or knows someone who does, I'd like to hear their opinion of it, just so I can snatch up some info.

From what I hear about XM is that it's starting to become more commercialized like normal radio. However you can hear pretty much anything you want and the FCC can't do a thing about the content. Plus Sirious has John Madden.

There's a buncha stations you might like on winamp internet radio...But you won't be able to get that in a car...

My friend's sister has XM in her car. I didn't hear any commercials, and there were a ton of stations. Jam Bands, Alternative, 70's, 80's, 90's, etc. It looks like a good purchase if you don't like black people music ( which sucks ( sue me )).

And it's starting to have commercials. From what I hear. Maybe not "buy tide" or something like that, but interuptions in music.

Oh, now it's okay to be racist as long as you put (so sue me, LOL) after it? Cool.

And last time I checked, pretty much everything is "black people music". Before black people basically created rock, hip-hop, reggae, blues, funk and everything else we listen to today, all there was were a bunch of whiteys playing classical piano and accordian.

Rap is not music, it is talking to a beat. And don't start with that "hardcore music doesn't sing either!!!@#!@on!e1" crap. Most rock bands are just that, bands. Most rappers consist of themselves, a DJ, and possibly some backup singers/dancers. Oh, and usually some other rapper, just so you don't know who's CD the song will be on.


By the way, that's my opinion of the 'music', not black people or anything like that.

I feel for you that they took away the last alternative/modern rock station, but you don't need to degrade the replacement as "some stupid black station" . You can at least respect everyone else's perception of music.
