This is why I boycott Wal Mart.

I worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield and handled the group plan for the state of Florida.

Their healtcare is a joke. They do not cover birthcontrol of any kind and they do not cover well child care visits (i.e. physicals and vaccines). That is all paid by the Wal Mart employee out of pocket which can sometimes cost up to $500.00 a visit. Not to mention the super high deductables and what they do cover is highly limited and managed. And on top of it all, the amount of money that is taken out of their paychecks for this farce of health insurance is just insane. Most of these people make minnimum wage.

One of the ways they fool their employees about it is using companies like Blue Cross. They will underwrite the policy and choose whats covered, how much is covered and what they will allow, meaning that it must follow Arkansas mandates. in the state of Florida, all insurance policies must have well child care, Arkansas does not. Then they will pay a big insurance company to manage the policy, i.e. to use its provider base and name. So all these employees come to raise hell at the insurance company not knowing that its Wal Marts policy, it just has the Blue Cross name on it. Wal Mart also wanted us to not tell their employees that if they did not agree with their coverage, they need to speak to their corporate office about it because all we do is enforce their policy, not write it.
