Now, I'm thinking about making an RPG Game using RPG Maker for the PS1 based on my characters and I need sprites.

I'm wondering if ya can make sprites for the following characters.

Halo (References: Sprites By Oushi (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/halogif.gif) Sketch by jvthewanderer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/Halojvthewanderer.jpg)) (He also wears a Samurai Robe in Blue color, as refered to the reference pics, he wears Chain Mil armor as well. Also seperate Sprites of him with no shirt and with Angel Wings).

Sakura (References: Sprites by Oushi (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/sakura2gif.bmp) Sketch by jvthewanderer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/sakurajvthewanderer.jpg) Perfect Drawing by Ultimate Creature II (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/Sakuradrawuc2.bmp)) (She Wears a Bikini, has Red Hair, and a Brown Fox Tail with White color at end and Brown Fox Ears. Also Seperate Sprites with her having Angel wings).

Foxy (References: Sketch by jvthewanderer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/Foxyjvthewanderer.jpg) ) (He's at Age 8. His Robe color is Blue/White, his hair is Brown as well as his Tail and Fox Ears.).

Amy (References: Sketch by jvthewanderer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Character%20Art/Amyjvthewanderer.jpg) ) (She's at Age 4. Her Robe is Pink/White, her hair is Blone, and her Fox Ears and Tail are Brown).

Mark (Has Blone Hair, and wears a Dark outfit).

Solaris (His hair and Eye color are brown and his hair is short, his clothing: blue robe with a cape, hood, and scarf, covering all but his eyes).

Yin (Reference: Non-Colored drawing by Kirbopher15 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/12079011/) ) (His clothing is Dark, his Hair is blue as well as his eyes.)

Yang (Reference: Non-Colored Drawing by Kirbopher15 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/12078477/) ) (Her hair and eyes are blue, and her clothing is light blue.)

Sabrina (Has Blue Long hair, Blue Eyes, and Blue/White Robe)

That's all I have for now

IMPORTANT!: Formats are: 72 x 96 pixels, color depth: 16, save in 16-colors bitmap (4-Bits)

a Reward you ask?...how's about me doing a small animation for your character if you have sprites, or a Slide show of your drawings, whatever you like best. or make sprites of your characters and you'll be a camo in my RPG Game.

Here's a Simpular Method. You make me Sprites, you can choose to have the following Rewards.
1) Me Make you 3 animations of one of your character (If sprites are present).
2) Me Make you Art Slide Show of your art work or anybody else for tribute reasons, apoligy reasons.etc. Can only accept up to 10 Art, must be in .gif format.
3) Camo in my RPG Game if you make sprites of yourself.

If you do more than One character sprites, then here are the following choices as reward additions.
1) Any Reward as said above (have a second reward in other words.)
2) Additional Sprite Animation. (If Sprite Animation Reward was chosen)
3) Up to 3 More Art for Slide Show (If Slide Show Reward was chosen)
4) Make small animation of your character meeting a Famous Arthor (If Author's permission for me to do this is approved and if their sprite sheet is present as well as your character's, no parody of author unless it doesn't offend nor humilate themself or their characters in anyway {hitting them for example}.)

You may choose to have your reward or not, It may not be done immediatly for certant reasons, but will possibly be done on weekends (if the work isn't much)

You have no idea what the sprites on RPG Maker for the PS1 look like?...well here's a couple of examples:

btw, RPG Maker for the PS1 IS a Playstation game by Agetec and ASCII, You might find a copy in game stores that sells used games or Mainly on Ebay or something, to play games you've downloaded, get a dexdrive for the PS1 games or use a PS1 emulator.

Everyone will be credited as it can be viewed both at menu screen (after loading up the game ofcourse) and selected, And at the end of the game.

I really don't know of any active sprite artists in the RPGM community. but you never know...

I'm kinda starting to enjoy sprite creation, but I'm booked with the 24 sprites I have to make for my own game (I only have four down).

You may want to cinsider RPGM2, otherwise, good luck. I know making sprites in the anime maker is tough.

well, with RPGC, you can at least just make them on the PC instead of the anime maker software.

Someone's got to have Sniffy's email address. He might be up for coming out of retirement if he knew there was suddenly demand for his RPGM1 sprites again.

the e-mail address I have for him gets a "user does not exist" response.

Hey, I'm a sprite artist! Don't you remember my topic on the old pav? Lemme see if I can do anything for you Hedrum, I just have to remember the dimensions for all the sprites.

Valkysas
02-28-2005, 08:38 PM
or you can just modify an existing sprite set for the proper dimensions.

You have 8 characters listed. I believe the max you can put in any 1 game (barring multiple system data tricks) is 7. Just thought you should be aware.

a Reward you ask?...
No offense, but anyone here who's willing to make you sprites isn't going to do it for those lame rewards. They'll do it because they're cool and like making sprites and helping people out. I'd just remove that entire "rewards" section if I were you, but hey.

Well to tell the truth, it's all I could offer for now.

This is the First Gif Animation I've ever done, I made a short parody including Jorge (copyrighted to Mr.OMA), btw, 5 GFs in the Past, 1 G he is married too Now. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/GIF%20Animations/jhmovie.gif)

I made this for IRA, a little Mug shot of each of his characters (I was unable to get Balandra in there). something for an Avatar of some sort. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/GIF%20Animations/chacompleate.gif)

Avatar Edition (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/GIF%20Animations/chaavataredition.gif)

My second Parody, using Jorge once again, and including jvthewanderer's 'Female' sprite, he took a good laugh at this. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Parody%20Series/parody1.gif)

I was starting to grow weak of Ideas, so I cooked this up, using Psyguy. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Parody%20Series/parody2.gif)

And Finally All my Sprite Animations (http://photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Sprite%20Animations/?start=20) made by either request or tribute. here's page 2 (http://photobucket.com/albums/v385/halo120/Sprite%20Animations/)

Have to go to school now. have a nice day.

Well to tell the truth, it's all I could offer for now. I think you missed the point. None of us do sprites for any sort of reward. We're just nice, and simply enjoy making sprites. The most anybody would ask is simple credit for our work.

I'm still on the offer everyone.

I'm still experimenting with the sprites in anime maker too. Think of it similar to MSpaint. One method to try which can work well is to draw a picture of the sprite you want on graph paper, or scan a photo and change it to a low resolution on a computer and print it out. Look at the pallete on the anime maker character editor and copy the picture as best as you can. Using the graph paper method, you can match it with the drawing screen on anime maker(there is also a graph screen on it), and copy the lines on your graph paper to graph on screen. If you do this, you only have to make little lines or dots and you have a pixel character, probably not perfect but as best as you can. If you look at early 8-bit nintendo games, try to see characters like mario and samus aran(metroid) close up. They are just little dots that could be put on graph paper. Just keep practicing and you'll eventually get it. The mouse works well with the anime maker too but I haven't tried it with the new PS2 model yet.
