The first RPG Maker 3 contest has begun! (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3849)

This marks the beginning of the new contest format. Biggest change is the implementation of the Trophy Emblem system. Basically, with all contests starting with the "Anything Goes" contest, special contest-specific trophy graphics (gold, silver, and bronze) will be added to the winner's profile page on the forum. These emblems will be awarded in addition to, or in substitution of a physical prize. each emblem has a point value, which will be able to be redeemed in the future for some very cool physical things. Thus with this new contest format, we will be having these mini-contests running at almost ALL times, in addition to having one major contest every year. If you have any questions, post them here and I'll answer them.

NOW TO THE "AND MORE" PART.

Pavilion needs reviewers. So I'm looking to add some people to the actual pavilion staff to review games. If you're interested, review one of the following games depending on which RPG Maker you want to review for. you can enter for all of them if you want, and if you can take screenshots, thats extra awesome points right there.

RPG Maker 1: Dew Quest (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=597)
RPG Maker 2: The Faith Of One (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2830)
RPG Maker 3: Second-to-Last Fantasy XXVI (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3182)

Review one of these games in a format comfortable to you, which includes any kind of scoring you want. Then send it to webmaster@dzarchive.com the search will end on november 7th. multiple reviewers may be chosen if the entries are of suitable quality.

If I remember right, the answer was "no", because Enterbrain tried to skrew Agetec over by releasing RMXP at the same time as RPGM3. Yeah, RMXP gets a forum here, and a few games by well-known Pavvies, and that's it.

I THINK they tried screwing agetec over, just by the time they chose to release it. I have no proof.

but no, there will be no XP contests here. we're dedicated to the console RPG Makers first and foremost.

I think I will just go ahead, and make a totally new game. One that will make you go insane. And without having annoying battles! :)

its the only RPG Maker 3 game, so my choices were somewhat limited when selecting a sample game for review purposes.

So is everyone that wants to be a reviewer gonna become one, or are you gonna judge whether they're a good reviewer or not on their sample one and not let everyone be a reviewer?

The public review system didnt work out (as far as I know, only rhen ever submitted reviews), so I'm looking to hire some staff to do it. I most likely won't pick everyone who submits, instead going with the people who do the best job, and the review format that works best.

I'd try out, but I'm already a reviewer for the Mag. :)

I tried to be a reviewer for the Mag but I was never able to catch OD on AIM except when he was busy with other stuff. Is any type of IM interview required for consideration here?

no.

I can take screenshots and create mpg files for the RPGM2 and 3 games. I have no Dex drive so RPGM1 will not be possible (yet).

I have been playing with my Video Captureator lately and while it is all set up I can do that too.

I may not have time to play through the longer games.

If the creators of these games wish to request specific shots and such, let me know.

I'll try to get some images for you this weekend.

Peace.

It's this weekend!

Here are links to the first six screenshots I took for The Faith Of One.

Anyone who wishes to review this game is welcome to use these in their work. I may or may not have time to do an actual review and admit to playing through quickly looking for good visuals.

This first batch is mostly The PDA, Dragarons Square Button Script which has many nifty features. There are some battle shots because everyone seems to like those, and an on screen shot of the enemy you are fighting.

I'll post a couple actual pics in Dragarons forum and the unused links too.

There will be more after I run my morning errands and eat lunch and play some more.

Peace

I thought about it, and although I would love to be a reviewer for the staff, I just don't think I could make the time commitment right now. So would It be okay if I just casualy (but professionaly) reviewed games and posted them?

Valkysas

of course. this is mainly just an attempt to nab some regular reviewers who I can count on to do in-depth reviews for games on a semi-regular basis. we'll still welcome and encourage user-submitted reviews.

When and how will those who submit a review be informed of whether or not they have been selected to be a reviewer?

Valkysas

fairly soon.

Valkysas

at least two really in-depth reviews per month.
