I'm the kind of guy who likes story creation, and making stuff happen. You know, making people talk, throwing together a cool-looking scene/minigame, making a hopefully fun boss, and so forth. And when I'm hit with a brainstorm, it downright pours ideas. But when it comes to barebones map design, spell effects creation, and naming of equipment, I'm at a loss. I think it's because of that, that I'm unable to finish any games (save for Jester's Hunt; some of you can see how much "fun" I had with map creation there).
I just tried starting something on RPGM3, for example. I was able to get as far as choosing the basic towns (this one is a castle town, this other is a woodsman's hut, etc.), but I'm up to making the layout, and I'm stuck.
I'm kinda considering attempting a collab effort. You know, I do the stuff I like, somebody else does the stuff I don't. Perhaps then I might finish some of my games, along with potentially finishing the other person's games if it works out right. Sure, there might be some downtime on one side when the other is doing their part, what with the inability to merge data. But at least there'd be some work done.
What do you guys think? Good idea, bad idea?
