So I popped in Aria of Sorrow, y'know just to compare it to DoS, and was delighted to find that all my files were gone.

On top of that, trying to save in a save room produces an error sound.

Uhg, there goes my 100%soul collection-Level 99-hardmode-all-enemy-drop-lists-complete file. Just venting.

So how do GBA carts save data, anyway? Do they use flash or a back-up battery? This happen to anyone else's GBA carts? Think it can be repaired?

They use batteries. You could try sending it to Konami to have the battery replaced. You're not going to get your save back though. You could always download one from gamefaqs or something and put it in the game with an action replay.

Actually, I might be wrong on this, but some GBA games use batteries, others use flash cards. It depends on how much stuff needs to be saved, I think. I think also that flash cards take a little longer to save data than battery back-up.

Either way, I don't think there should be any GBA cartridge with a dead battery yet. Unless the battery has recieved a ton of use. I mean, if there are NES games with working batteries...
