notice in the class section how it has ROWs? Front, Middle, Back? I was wondering if this was like FFVII and the further back you are the less damage you receive but also the less damage you cause? If not, could someone explain what they are?

Haven't tried it myself, but I assume that's the case.

It doesn't affect how much damage a character takes. It affects how often it's the target of an attack.

Yeah, I don't like it when the enemy seems to focus attention on a certain member. Not unless they're doing it strategically. Or in the case of FF1, where the last couple members in my group can go down in two or three hits.
