    Multiple games anyone?

Working on RPG Maker 3 is fun, but some of the restrictions are just plain
stupid. Not being able to move characters from one map to another, no
class changing (which leads to creating more characters if you truly want a class change system).

Anyways, I've already burned almost half my characters in a relatively early point in my story... So I'm gonna have to make several games to finish my story, at least 3 games by my estimate... Anyone else doing the same?

I know there's a very real possibility that I'm going to have to make multiple games for one game I was originally planning for RPGM1, which was going to need probably 3 system cards and 3 scenario cards (Pretty much the equivalent of 3 separate RPGM3 games).

I think the most dissappointing part of this system is that game saves are actually part of the game, rather than a separate save file, otherwise you could probably string three games together.

Sigh, I've officially trashed my RPG Maker 3 (well, not really, but I did manage to get a bit of my money back by trading it in).

Moving my project to RPG Maker XP... :X

I found the limitations to be too crushing in RPGM3. I was unable to make the game I wanted, so I worked on a game tailored to the system instead.

It took almost two weeks to get old.

I think of all the limitations I have complained about none were as crushing as the 50 lines of script per event mode.

I will finish my game for 3, and it will fit in one file, but for now I am back to Videogamedrome (it is so close to finished!) and my favorite RPGMaker... RPGM2.

I bought 3 instead of XP (I'd rather support Agetec than Enterbrain) but suspect I would have been happier with XP.

Maybe I'll get that around Christmas. If I can swindle a credit card outta somebody. I only use "store specific" cards. They don't work online.

          MOO!

                Cool!
Looks like I can get RPGM3 for super-cheap then.
And of course never, EVER use it!

I plan to finish my RPGM3 game I'm working on, and it is tailored around the limitations of RPGM3. I should be able to fit it all in one game, if not I'll probably cut some stuff out as opposed to making it a multi game. I'm actually thinking of making a XP remake of it since then I would be able to actually animate some of the scenes, which would help add to the story and character development.

I want to comment on your statement of not being able to move characters from one map to another. Are ou refering to not being able to place the same NPC in different areas?

I still haven't had as much time on RPGM3 as I would like, so I haven't tried it out yet.

                    There is no way really.

Not without making a clone of that character and placing him on another map...

You can imagine how fast that would burn through the 100 characters you are allowed though.

The 100 character limitation is by far the most negative thing about RPGM3. It's not possible to make lively towns with so little to work with.

The longer the game, the less populated your towns. I figure one could have 9 towns at the most before the population goes down too much. Assuming of course, that you're willing to have only 10 people in each town.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

My current game, Nomed Legna, currently only has 3 characters walking around in all of my towns combined. Luckily, for me this works fine for me because of the theme of the game. For any other game this can be a major main in the ass. Why RPGM3!?! Why?

Yeah I am finding it hard to do stuff. My game will hopefully work in the end. I think it will. I only have 8 or 9 towns each containing 10 people. That leaves ten other people left. So it is working pretty good. Every other game though especailly the one I am trying to make really sweet will probably be broken up into eight games. It will probably take 4 years atleast to finish them all. But I am very happy about RPG Maker 3. Even though it is limited it is fun to mess with the sound effects and storyteller. I made a big muscular guy cry like a baby.
