Datel's 4GB Hard Drive for PSP

Various outlets are reporting that Datel is planning to release a 4GB hard drive for the PSP that includes a 3600mh X2 battery that's expected to boost playing time by 100%. Whoa! Tell us more!
No official word on price or release date yet, but the device is supposed to come out near the end of the month. Sweet.

Has anybody else heard about this? Sounds pretty great.

Yeah, it costs 250 American beans.

Pretty bulky too, seing as how a wire has to wrap around to connect it to the MS slot.

I would not buy that unless it is officialy licensed by Sony. You are just asking to have your PSP fried using that.

It's no different than any other third party product, it's not some homebrew mod or anything, it's a reputable company.

the datel max drive destroyed (not corrupted, destroyed) one of my PS2 memory cards just because I used the "move" command. reputable my ass.

I really don't see much of a point to getting one, since the 1 GB memory stick is probably out. I've got a 250 MB stick loaded with pictures and videos and it's working out just fine for my everyday gaming needs on the side.

It's not like Sony does too great of a job themselves. The PSP doesn't need any help frying. But you're right as far as not wanting to violate the warranty.

I've never had a product the was licensed by Sony fail on me, wether it were a console or an accessory.

Me either.

I have, however, had an SNES and an NES fry on me, and a Game Boy. I guess I have the opposite luck of everyone else when it comes to system care.

I actually haven't either, except my PS1 stopped doing vibration with the dual shock, but I think that was caused by a third party accessory I was using. But enough people complain about Sony that I figure there must be something to it.
