    Game idea

it's probably a long way off from being made with rpg maker. this is one i'm considering college to learn how to make the old fashioned way.

the year is 2005. los angeles has become the nerve center of the country. akira kasoto is a ninja that takes on various jobs to pay the bills. one night while meeting a client he is given a disc and must unravel it's mysteries.
after several dead ends a friend of his gets back from a trip. she has several answers for him. and the diver is reborn...

rough idea there. just remembered the whole thing last night. if i can swing it it'll have several FMV sequences and hopefully some techno tracks. unless the perfect RPG Maker comes along i'm gonna just program this game myself. when the time comes i'll probably put out an RPGM version, but it's not a first choice for me. and it was seven years ago when i wrote it so 2005 was in the seemingly distant future.
the legends have returned...whenever i can finish these, lol.

You do realize that FMVs are generally used when a sequence is needed in a game that the system can't handle on its own. Doesn't help that the Final Fantasy games couldn't have anything cinematic without them, what with the majority of the games being on 2D (though nice-looking) backgrounds.

That's why there haven't been as many FMV sequences in games this generation as there were in the last.

haven't played many games for this generation. i just think it'd be kind of a nice touch and i'd probably be using a 2d engine for the first cut of it.

Ah, that would make sense. So, would these be CG or Anime cutscenes?

i'd prefer anime but CG may be more visable. not like i could strike a deal with sunrise or funimation after all, lol.

I don't know about Sunrise, but last I checked, Funimation only localized anime.

sunrise is the best. they actually make them. but i don't have the resources for anime cutscenes, kickass art form or not.

i think tsubasa may be my only game for RPGM3 at this point. the ones i really wanna do are just way too ambitious for it so i'm gonna see what the next installment has to offer for them. may even have to swallow my pride and check out XP...
