    Python vs Gator

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

That's awesome. Way more awesome than a cheesy B-movie.

o_O Wow. What a terrible way for both parties to die.

This was probably the work of some ignorant redneck.

Burmese Pythons will not swallow their prey live unless it is small and virtually defenseless(like a kitten). A large gator? That snake would only eat if dead, and a gator that far down the snake's stomach would not survive there for that duration of time, even if it WAS alive when swallowed. Further, the snake's head was reported as missing(Miami Herald), so it seems some redneck must have grabbed himself a trophy, after wanting to see what this beast swallowed.

Buildup of gases can be ruled out. I know of people who's snakes have died from food fermenting in their stomachs(due to improper temperature), but never a bursted stomach, let alone rupturing the entire animal. These prey items were even larger in relation to the snake's size when compared to this python and the gator.

Why a redneck? Another animal like a puma, bobcat, or another gator would not have messed with a python this large to begin with, and even if it did(and miraculously won AND survived), it would not simply eat the bony head and leave all that meat undisturbed. Only a human would have reason to simply take the head.

It's a shame to see such a magnificant python harmed in this manner.
