Worth it to work with RPGM1?

I'm kind of wanting to make a new game, lately. I won't work with RM3, I don't want to fiddle with RM2, and I can do pretty much anything with RM1. I'm just wondering, if I make a new game with the original, will anyone care? More importantly, would anyone bother to play it?

I've definitly got the itch to make something.

RPG Maker 1 games get most of the downloads here. you have a better chance of an RPGM1 game getting played than you do an RPGM2 game.

Interesting. I guess I'll set the wheels in motion, then.

I'm not sure that's necessarily true. I've seen RPG Maker 1 games get about up to about 30 views. But with RPG Maker 2, I've seen most games get higher than 30 views. That is if the download count is accurate.

There will always be some people interested in playing RPGM1 games.

all the trackers on the site only account for registered members. Vbulletin doesnt track any unregistered people's actions except for the "who's online" page.

the trackers that are on the actual server's control panel (that monitor everything and everyone) show most RPGM1 games get between 40-90 downloads, with a select few going into the hundreds like remote control (270)

The problem with RPG1 is that it relies om dexdrive, which those of us new to the file-sharing business do not have and do not particularily want to get.
