So far I'm about 30% done database wise and I've left out a lot of normal townspeople that I'll put in later. The story is about a young Master named Jenna or at least she thinks she's a Master at first (the term Master in my game is loosely used as a recognized rank of achievement in fighting signified by an accessory passed onto the Disciple from their Master, in Jenna's case the Master Medallion which remains her best accessory for the majority of the game.) but soon finds out that she's not really a Master.
The story begins with Master Elgar (Jenna's Master and adopted father) assigning her final training to her. He tells her that her final training is to discover who her real parents are (this is very significant in the overall story). After a quick errand Jenna returns to Master Elgar to find out her training is complete (when she really didn't do anything) and he hands her his Master Medallion. Soon thereafter Master Elgar is mysteriously murdered. In an attempt to unveil the mystery surrounding Master Elgar's murder you discover many things about him and yourself that you never knew. Perhaps his murder is connected to his request for you to discover your real parents. Play the game when it comes out to find out.
So far I've been focused much more on the story than anything else and that will hopefully be one of the strong points of this game but I'm trying to balance out the gameplay so that the player never feels like they are obligated to do a quest and rather that the player would keep coming back for more because each "quest" leaves the player with more questions that need to be answered and of course interesting character play and skills to keep the battles from becoming dull. The game will be fairly linear however.
