Gaming moments that made you tingle/cry/scream

That includes moments within the story, or moments of your own personal making.

SPOILERS FOR: SUPER METROID, SPACE CHANNEL 5

Super Metroid: Mother Brain to the escape
From the moment you step into the hall leading up to Mother Brain, things just keep escalating. When she hit me with that mouth beam and Samus was on her knees panting, I was furious. I was pounding the buttons saying, "Come on, come on!" When she charged up the second beam, I was frustrated as hell. No! I'm gonna die. And then my Metroid saves me. THANK THE STARS! Eat that, Mother Brain! My health is being restored and I'm getting pumped up thinking Round 2 is gonna come up next... But Mother Brain's recovering! She's getting up! I started button mashing and shouting for the Metroid to hurry up! OH NO! She's killing the Metroid!

My heart sunk when the screen went black and the Metroid gasped it's last... And immediately after, it fades away towards Samus, who starts glowing. Instinctively knowing that glowing = power, I fired at Mother Brain's ugly mug. She reeled and screamed. I kept firing volleys, delighting in her painful squeals. That's right-- Eat this you metroid-killing *****!!

A euphoric wave of accomplishment washed over me as I watched Mother Brain crumble away. I put my controller down in anticipation of the credits... But what?! I countdown! OH NO!!!

I'd be lying if I said I escaped successfully on my first try... But even without seeing the credits, I knew that I'd be hard pressed to find a boss fight that effected me so intensely anywhere else.

Space Channel 5: Fight with Blank
It's hard to call Space Channel 5 a fantastic game. I mean, it's funky and weird and cool, but it's short, silly, and I can't imagine playing it more than once -- though now that I've brought it up, I feel I have to.

It's hard to remember a lot from the game, except for one part that I remember vividly. At the end, there's a bunch of what I guess could be called "boss fights" in a row. At the end of the second fight Ulala gets blown away, and the music (which is pretty awesome throughout the game) just stops. But then this a capella song starts... It's just one guy keeping a baritone doo-wop beat. And then a few female vocals come in. That's when the last boss fight starts: Ulala vs. Blank, the Space Channel Five executive.

As the fight keeps going, more and more voices join in, and eventually instruments start accompanying, and it turns into a huge ensemble version of the main theme, Mexican Flyer. All of the supporting characters in the game appear, and they're just helluva cheering Ulala on. And the fight gets tougher and tougher. Everybody's counting on you! Come on!! YOU CAN'T LOSE!!! When I did lose, and the screen went static, I dropped my controller and hung my head in despair.

... It's really the song that does it. If anyone wants to hear, PM or email me.

I'll post more moments as I remember them.

        Spoilers for Legacy Of Kain:

Legacy Of Kain: Defiance: Hash'ak'gik revealed, Kain meets Tony Jay and Raziel dies...again.
After four sequels and a timeline tampered with so many times it rivals The Terminator in timeline complexities, the saga that started in Blood Omen finally comes full circle in the last few chapters of this game. The mysterious Hash'ak'gik who was believed to cause the events that caused the circle to become corrupted in Blood Omen, a game released EIGHT YEARS PRIOR, is revealed to be none other than Turel, the final brother of Raziel that he had neglected to hunt down and kill at the start of his quest for vengence in Soul Reaver. Even later than that, Raziel finally defies the Elder God and Mobieus, the Time Keeper by doing the one thing he realized would have the remote chance of destroying him and setting time right, by allowing Kain to complete the soul reaver, by joining it's physical and spiritual sides together. The only way to do that was to let Kain absorb him into his sword.

When this happened I couldn't believe it, I almost wanted to shout in anger alongside Kain. "NO! THIS CAN'T BE THE WAY!", but then Kain can see The Elder God that had sent Raziel on his quest three Legacy Of Kain games earlier...and that it is nothing but a parasite. Kain challenges the god and one easy boss fight later walks away the victor. My hands shook at what just happened, and despite the fact that the last few LoK games don't even come close to Blood Omen or Soul Reaver, I was still rocked. And for the first time in a legacy of kain game...a befitting ending came to the saga as Kain stood, watching the ruined pillars and deciding that Hope was the only thing that could save Nosgoth.

        Silent Hill 2: The videotape

Yeah, I should've seen it coming from a mile away, but when you finally see the video in the hotel you can't help but be overcome with a cold sweat.

To continue with the whole boss fight/epic music theme...

SPOILERS FOR METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER

The fight with the Boss in the flower field is poetry. I heard about her struggles and accomplishments all throughout the game. She's legendary. And now I have to fight her...? In under FIVE MINUTES or I'm NUKED?

          GOD.

The showdown starts slowly, tension ever rising... I had no idea how to even approach this battle at first so, like the Boss, I hid and bided my time waiting for her to peek out so I could tranq her. The wrong idea, but I noticed an instrumental version of the main Snake Eater started to play. So BOMBASTIC and AWE-INSPIRING... as the fight went on I learned I gotta use CQC against her.

The music swelled and grew more powerful, then the vocals kicked in. OOooohhh my GOD I'm in a SPY MOVIE. The greatest spy action thriller movie ever! I'm actually becoming stronger than my master!! The controller and I became one as I defeated the Boss with but a few seconds to spare and the main theme's trumpet blaring.

Roll the incredibly bittersweet/downer ending and the lethargic funk that follows.

edit: Oh, Manyak beat me to it. Sorta.

How about we mark our spoilers fellers?

                  Christ, I'm so relieved.

I thought I was the only one who almost cried over MGS3.

SCREAM: Fighting Ganon in the original Legend of Zelda for NES. None of my siblings could believe it when I killed Ganon with about 2 hearts left. I was so nervous I could barely hold the controller. I yelled when I beat him, but I can't remember what I said. It wasn't anything dirty, because I would've been in 4th/5th grade.

CRY: The entire last boss sequence/segment in Parasite Eve. Thankfully, no one else was around to see me shed that single tear when I watched an FMV of a certain person catching fire while trying to help you fight a losing battle.

TINGLE: Taking on a row of high school guys (I was in middle school at the time) at the original Samurai Shodown and not losing one quarter. I was playing by myself when they all decided to line up and get me off the machine. I was playing as Gen-an, and they thought I was easy prey. I fought every guy in the entire line twice without losing one match or saying a single word. I was nervous, because they were all much bigger than me, but I knew they couldn't beat me at the game.

Then my mom came to pick me up. I looked at all the now dejected guys, smiled, and said "My mom's here, I've got to go. Who wants to take my quarter?"

There are so many more... but I digress...

The fight between Snake and Boss in MGS3 made me tingle. The tension, the poetry of the visuals, the music... Kojima's masterstroke.

Cry? The bridge scene in ICO. When I finally figured out what I needed to do, and saw the resulting cinema... I wanted to marry Yorda. Right there.

For screams... pretty much any moment in the last half of Silent Hill 4. That damn game.

Re: Gaming moments that made you tingle/cry/scream

I seriously can't remember trying to cry because of any game. No wait, scratch that. FFVI's ending gave my throught that feeling it gets when I'm going to cry.

Tingle, that would be when I started the battle with Zeromus in FFIV. Here it was, after having already beaten FFX, and I was impressed by the awesome background (for a first-gen SNES RPG at least) and my favorite final battle music. Along with that, any time I accomplished something that seemed impossible, mostly when I was a kid.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Playing ET for the ATARI 2600

I got the game when it first came out. I had to be about 8 or so, I started playing. Got all the **** together to phone home and that ****ING SCIENTIST KEPT GRABBING ME!!. I got sooo upset and I was running out of time to get back to the landing site and then I fell in a hole. My time ran out. I turned grey and I died....

I cried for like 30 minutes, not just weeping but litterally sobing.

My mom took the ATARI away for a couple of days after that incident.

Any time when I have to put some effort into playing the game is when I usually cry and/or scream.
