Here's something I don't get.

So Sandra Day o Conner dies or something and Bush wants Roberts to take her place. And everyone is all, "Pick a woman you dick." But then Reinhurst dies and overnight, Roberts is no longer taking Conner's place but Reinhurst's. How does that happen? Now Bush has chosen this Meirs chick and is saying that she's taking Conner's place.

Isn't Roberts still taking Conner's place and Meirs Reinhurst's place? It just seems all ****ed up to me.

Roberts was supposed to take her place, but when Renquist died, they needed a new chief justice, and Bushy decided to use Roberts, and find someone who can take Sandra Day O`Connors place instead. She is still an active justice until her replacement can be found.

Roberts as chief justice is worth a good laugh. He has little experience, let alone as a judge, and none as a Supreme Court Justice, yet the Bush administration wants him as chief justice?

Ideally, overall competence and experience would be the deciding factor, but in actuality it is connections, willingness to serve the corporations(no matter the cost to all else), and politics that is the determining factor.
