    Front Mission

well, square's releasing fm5 sometime next year in the u.s.

i really like the front mission series. it's a nice change of pace from the usual tactical fantasy genre. i like the modern warfare thing.

fm3 was my first taste and i loved it. i spent over 100 hours on that game. then, fm4 was basically a minor upgrade of fm3 and i have to say i loved it just the same. i enjoyed customizing my machines and outfitting them with weaponry, then taking them into battle and throwing holes into opponents with machine gun fire! wheeee! i love the sfx too. although, sometimes it's tedious when you have to worry about changing & comparing parts and micro-managing everything, but that's what a good strategy game does best. gives you details to work with.

i wished square would've released fm history for the psone.

overall, i'm a front mission fan. anyone else?

I watched my cousin play it. I like it even though I haven't played it myself. Though the cutscenes outside of the 3D arenas are so dang boring.

          Multiplayer combat would be nice.

            Re: Front Mission

for fm3 & 4, the actual story segments were pretty bland, i admit. no foot exploration, just selecting people or places from a menu. almost like a high-grade text adventure or something. i guess i didn't mind them so much. i like warring gigantic robots with guns and stuff, so the battles are the best part anyway. i think in fm3, you could play multiplayer in practice battle(right?).

front mission online is supposed to be more action based, like mech assault.

armored core would make a good online battling game, as long as it kept all the creation/custom options. is from software making anything like that?
