I am totally shelving my current project, Terra Saga. Now I know what you may be thinking, "Terra Saga, the hell is that?". Yeah, I havent advertised it here much.
Anyway, here is my new game idea.
The story is very Suikodeness, if you will. The world is filled with feuding nations, most striving for power and domination. The story revolves around the main hero, Seth, and his dertimination to become a Knight of Malania (Malania is the capital city of, you guessed it, The Malania Kingdom). Events occur, and he is thrust into war against his enimies.
Enough of the story, though. The main element in the game I would like to produce is a "Karma" system. Throughout the game you will have many choices, ranging from good to bad, and from minor to major. The results will change the gameplay slightly for some aspects, such as towns people acting differently towards you to who your "friends", or main partymembers, will be. However, some effects of the choices I wish to be major, from the delevopment of your character and skills, to the ultimate choice of what side you wish to fight on in the game, changing the story of course.
Of course these ideas arent exactly "orginal". I recieved great inspirations from such games as Fable and Skyes of Arcadia.
If we ever figure a way to allow the recyclement of characters, I will also probably do another Suikoden trait of allowing you to recruit party members.
