I have done all my event and placement work for chapter 1 and already did half the text push in...now I'm really wanting a keyboard

what type of keyboard do I need and how much does it cost

Any keyboard with a usb port. If you can't find one, then just get a cheap keyboard and buy a ps/2-usb adaptor. It should only run you about $25 ($15 for the converter and $10 for a cheap keyboard). You don't need a keyboard with any fancy features so don't bother splurging on anything but a standard QWERTY.

Bought the adapter plugged in my mouse and keyboard

NM apparently it just didn't like one of my old keyboards new one is workin just fine
